Re: Exhaust leak? Mistimed? Lifter tick?

Could the clicking noise be coming from the fuel injectors? Some fuel injectors are noisy as suggested above. I'm not sure what car you are talking about here. Volvo change from hydraulic to solid lifters. Can't remember what year or if specific engines were affected by that. The solid lifters are ...

Re: Parts brands - OE Volvo, trusted aftermarket, and bad

I did a bunch of p80 racks during Covid and both Detroit and United racks have had no issues.

P80 dash mount repairs

I see this subject come up fairly regularly. I am currently working on repairing and reinforcing 2 lower dash sections with broken firewall bolt plastic mounts. I will document what I do and then if anyone finds it useful then hopefully it helps. I am not going to document the dash removal and refit...

Re: Alternative source wanted for wiring repair p/n 3523813 wire & 9144275 socket

Just thinking out loud...can those be 3D printed? Shouldn't take long to create a 3D model of it. Not sure about what materials to use though. Yes, you can :) The connectors for the door side lights in my V70 suffered from the same issue, the silicone seal just crumbled away: PXL_20240629_142221379...

Power seat switch refurbishment 1998-2004 C70

Volvo no longer makes the front seat switches for the 1998-2004 C70. As near as I can tell it is the same part for the 1998-2000 S70, V70 and V70XC. Front Left: 9472715 / 9472434 Front Right: 9472716 My driver’s seat switch started to fail and when I discovered it was no longer available, I decided ...

Re: 850 Blower power stage schematics

This sounds like one for Mr. Al !! He and others did a great job on the fuel pump relay.

Re: What is up with this dipstick?

This very much look like a 99+ dipstick in a -98 tube. I dont think you can get the old one brand new anymore and the new style one is often advertised as compatible, so a previous owner probably replaced it without noticing Image borrowed from IPD dipstick page https://www.ipdusa.com/products/9673/...

Re: Fuel system problem on a 96 850 R

You should have battery voltage at fuel pump connector.
10.6v is nothing...i would say that fuel pump relay is bad.

Pro Parts Sweden...why?
Bosch insert is around 100€.

I wouldn't be surprised if that pump is bad.

My friend had a Magneti Marelli pump failed in 2 days.

Re: Fuel system problem on a 96 850 R

Fuel pump relay on these cars isn't just a normal relay. It have some chips, capacitors and electronics inside. When it starts to misbehave it is doing just that you described. Sensitive electronics inside is sensitive to high temperatures. When it cooled down it behaved normally. Only new or used Vol...

Re: 96 850 glt sedan

You should be able to find GKN/Lobro boots out there (OEM supplier). They are getting harder to find but they are out there. Try Autohauz, IPD and FCP for starters. https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo-cv-boot-kit-outer-gkn-loebro-31256235#fitment The inners can be challenging as some list turbo a...
