Re: 850 T5 oil pressure loss: catastrophic oil cooler failure or headgasket?

Wanted to follow up in case anyone else has a similar issue. Thankfully it ended up just being that the oil cooler failed inside the radiator—head gasket is totally fine. Replaced the radiator and she’s been running perfect with no further issues, and no pressure in the cooling system. So, it’s inte...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

Drove the V70 in the dark and rain to the post office, making me realise how I cant see shit on low beams

Ironically the package I was retrieving contained new reflectors for my 240

Re: Blower motor not working 98 s70 glt

Well unless you have a bunch of spares or junkyards near by! I think I have about 10-12 of the cabin sensors and multiple fans and a few resistor units in the stash. I think I bought the cabin sensor for my current 00 R new from Volvo and was shocked at the prices. Then I found that local junkyards ...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

Today was the first day I left the battery hooked up overnight after installing the new used alternator and it started right up in the morning. Yay!

Replacement expansion tank comes tomorrow. I might dig the ABS module out to send it off.

Bad sump seals? Nope, oil SLUDGE!

I had all the tell tale signs that my sump seals were gone. Pretty loud ticking at idle. And it would go away with sustained rpm’s like highway driving which is mostly what I do. The noise got Especially worse after replacing an 80% clogged ORIGINAL PCV. I think the crankcase pressure was actually h...

Re: A "REAL" fix for the 850 wiper arms

I bought a Volvo branded and a no name wiper arm (driver side) through Skandix and this fixed the problem on both cars, probably for a few years. Aftermarket seems very similar, if not identic. If you want to keep the arms from bending in the future, unload them by lifting the wipers off the windshi...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

Vapour blasting is the best method to restore to factory finish but it has to be removed from the car to be done. Mine was covered in a thick layer of white powder when I bought the car, every time I touched it the powder went everywhere. I tried several different brushes, nylon, rubber, wire, Scotc...

Re: Parts brands - OE Volvo, trusted aftermarket, and bad

Correction: balljoints are fine. Whoever did the inspection probably wasnt that day (our inspection centers cannot legally be garages, so it's not like they could have upsold me anything)

Re: Look at this for ABS parts repair

I will also add this note: you can make your own ABS cement by taking pieces of ABS and mixing them with MEK. this would be particularly advantageous for color matching your fixes. In my case my interior is beige and I have cracked beige pieces. I will keep an eye out for a similar interior color in...

Re: MVS visits Japan Korea Qingdao Shanghai Beijing

Tokyo, Yotsua District.

My Volvo spotting patience was rewarded with a nice black 850 with R spoilers which I did grab a pic, to be loaded
