Re: Misfire under boost

For anyone who was interested. The cap and rotor were very nasty (original at 178,000). It ran fine and I hadn't had time or need to replace. Installed the cap and rotor first and it ran much smoother and had a very large improvement on the under boost missfire but it was still there. Coil (Bosh OE)...

Re: DIY: Build your own positive battery cable for the 850

I used bob850's method today on my V70R and it's probably the cheapest and easiest solution! My original cable was very corroded just below the lug on the battery and it was so bad that the cable didn't flex at all for that first inch. I was able to get both the marine terminals as well as a 4 AWG 4...

P0455 Evap Code 1999 S70 GLT SOLVED

Suddenly I had p0455 "gross leak" failure on the evap system. I also thought the idle was slightly less even. Following much of this site's information on the J hose and L hose connected to the charcoal canister I found two small cracks on the L hose. I had previously solved my first P0455...

Re: 1998 SIPS BAG SAFETY LOCKS

When I ran across them, I was shocked not only at their existence, but at their design and execution (mount/holder even). It's the little things like this that made Volvo the high water mark of car safety.

Re: 1995 850T oil cooler lines

That bolt is top of the list of why I despise changing the P80 oil cooler lines. Second is the square gasket, third is the fasteners that hold on the thermostat, fourth is that the aluminum thermostat bends very easily. Then there is the second list of things about the job I merely dislike ... We'll...

Re: Low voltage reading after re-starting car

You will need 13.5-14.4v with headlights, heater blover(not on 4th speed!),radio and rear defroster ON. Anything below 13.5v will not keep the battery fully charged when car is used. The usual problem is positive battery cable which goes from battery to starter and then the other end...from starter t...

Re: 97 855R PCV 5/8 hose mod, what vacuum hose?

Silicone is not my first choice for that connection. It works fine but the silicone will get oily and sweat oil. I went with good old rubber for that one only, no elbow as ChuckW says. All other vac lines I use silicone.
