I think it should be kept in place because......
Just like manufacturers have had to take measures to avoid the danger of a stuck open throttle due to throttle body icing, this is likely another safety measure. The throttle spring has a lot of return force on it (to ensure it will close once released) and would likely be able to close itself regar...

Re: Volvo Findings! (What have you found on Craigslist?)
Very nice white 1998 V70 manual with top trim level in Indiana. I've never seen wood grain on the door cards before. Looks like someone really loved this car.
Pics to prove that door card woodgrain exists:

Probably wasn't necessary, but I went ahead and replaced it anyway.

1999 V70 XC 2.4T AWD - 3rd party scan tools - be careful!
Be careful hooking up 3rd party scanners if you use the "auto detect" or auto vin detect setting... The two legitimate codes are the first one and the very last one. Every one of the other ones appears to have been caused by the auto scan on the Autel Maxicom. Scanner does well if you inpu...

Although the typical heater core leak may be a slow drip, it has the potential to be a source of massive coolant loss, as happened to me. My 1996 850 had a slow heater core leak (a few ...

Re: 1996 Volvo 850 GLT N/A radiator clips
I replace those with M6 hardware in cheap stainless which makes removal a lot less painful.
Zip tie two opposite corners to hold the sand which together, install bolts into other corners, then cut ties and do the first corners.

Wooosshhh!!!! sound accellerating TURBO
Today, after replacing the brake master cylinder en front brake discs on my 2001 C70 T5 and (of course) bleeding the brake system I went for a test run to check the work and bed in the discs. Everything was A-ok however, close to home as I was returning, which is up a steep hill, I decided to give i...

Re: 96 850 Turbo Wagon Cruise Control Surging Please Help
UPDATE:
I replaced the Cruise Control relay with one I salvaged a few years ago. So FAR it seems to be working correctly now. Still more tests in the works but no surging so far.
