Re: Rear end collission! Repair advice needed.

No way I'm giving up that easily. 10 years and 100k miles ago, the engine blew, so I bought a used one and had it installed.

Public service announcement: I recommend people in rust-prone states check their bumper brackets and replace them if they are rusty.

Re: 1997 Volvo 855: Incredibly crumbled orginal Camshaft Position Sensor wiring

This went out on me today - after sitting over night - would not start. Code 0340. My plug looks almost the same - fried -on a 98 V70, 165K. Should have been easy to fix but it is about 20 degrees out and all the vacuum hoses are hard as rocks so made it difficult to get to the sensor bolts. New sen...

Re: 1997 V70 loss of power; no acceleration possible.

I would place the MAF in serious consideration. A disconnected MAF is supposed to idle, and not be able to get around the block. If this were a turbo, I would have said that one of the intercooler hoses was loose or broken. For non-turbo, check the air filter box to throttle body tube very carefully...

Re: Testing/Experimenting with Fuel Pump Relays

On the bench testing, have you tried cold soaking it in the freezer for an hour?

By saying” cold soaking it on the electrical bench” you can charge $200/ hour for using engineer-speak

“ put i n freezer” is a mere $15/hour phrase

Re: ECC Unit Removed (After Dash Removal), 1996 850 Turbo

SUCCESS!!!!!! Last night I tried again to remove the ECC Unit by pushing / pulling it toward the rear of the car , this time more forcefully, and heard what sounded like plastic cracking, at which point I stopped. The unit did not appear to have moved from it's position, so I decided to remove the d...

Re: Advice sought on how to flatten a bowed plastic cowl

I think a combo of what Rick and Steve have suggested can work using self threading bolts/screws with large washers, drilling a couple of holes and first heating the plastic before putting the screws in. Soften it up just a little then clamp a straight edge along the straight edge of the plastic, l...
