This is a Thanks to FCP Euro
This is a post to recognise FCP Euro and their support of MVS. That support is a source which allows me to not only to simply have the site, but to spend time making its availability (uptime) high, and its speed (page load times) fast, among other things. https://s3.amazonaws.com/images.matthewsvolv...

Re: DIY: Oil Pan/Sump O-Ring Replacement 2000 XC
Excellent writeup! After reading it, I'm glad I had a shop do the job for my car, but someone with more inclination could sure benefit. For anyone wondering, this job will often take care of "ticking" in the lifters. In my case, the ticking would occur if the oil level was a little low. T...

Re: Best modifications made to your P80 Volvo
Depends on how much you wanna spend! See my signature for my list of 2000 XC mods... it is a completely different car. I would know, I did all these these mods when it had 280K! If I could only pick a few.... a tune is probably easiest way to change the feeling of the car. IPD short intake sounds a...

Re: 1999 v70 xc transmission, has a master mechanic and specialty shop stumped
Misha. Not sure the V70XC had a 5 speed auto. My 98 had a 4 speed, and I thought in North America only the V/S70 base got the 5 speed auto in 2000 MY as well as the 'R'.

Re: Coronavirus Thread
I want to respect this threads parameters but sorry - I have to respond. I'm NOT going to let the President off the hook for this one. He has demonstrated his complete lack of scientific understand from day one: Rick Perry for Energy Sec when Perry had no scientific background. Rex Tillerson from Ex...

Re: Coronavirus Thread
I am not an alarmist but everyone should read this article published last night in the Lancet. Pay attention to the graph between Feb. 21, 2020 and March 13, 2020. The USA is about 3-4 weeks behind in the Italy's curve! Tsunamis usually hit in waves, the first wave is usually small and serves as a w...

Re: Coronavirus Thread
That's a great link and post, thanks cn90. There is nothing alarmist about that Lancet article, it is straightforward assessment of the data with projections. It's realistic, based on vetted practices of epidemiology. A reminder to climate-deniers and flat-earthers: you can't choose to not believe t...

Re: Coronavirus Thread
You don't need a mask, because you arent going out. If you want to make a mask, make one from cloth, and leave the N95s for the first responders, and essential workers, not for grocery shopping runs. Grocery store only - if your store isnt supporting curbside pick up, then call the manager and get t...

Re: Will a '98 angle gear fit my '99 V70XC?
Hi Eric, My car has been running as a FWD for about 40.000km now; I have entirely deleted the angle gear last year. As I wrote in my last post (Mon Feb 04, 2019 5:54 pm); I had accidentally bought and refurbished a non-fitting angle gear. I managed to sell it to another Volvo enthousiast. I didn't s...

Re: Penzoil Synthetic from natural gas
smoggyama, I would suggest counting fuel gallons at the pump. Assume some reasonable MPG and calculate estimated miles driven.
