Re: Wondering what to do? 1998 S70 blown head gasket
Update on my blown head gasket: I've been at it for 3-5 hr's a day for the past several days. I should have the head off by tomorrow. The heat and humidity has not helped! It has been a pain in the shorts, especially at my age; at least as bad as replacing the steering rack! Next will be to deliver t...

Re: FCP Summer sale 7/22 - 7/26
You can return maintenance parts replaced on the Volvo maintenance schedule. A cabin filter doesn’t really fail, but mine get bad enough I still bag them! With 5 Volvo’s in the fleet I’m careful to keep track of what part goes where to keep it on the righteous side with FCP . This I’ve paid for 4 ou...

Re: Let's play Name That Car
88 has the 2.5 in it. No turbo, unfortunately. (It's my dad's car now.)
The 59 I'm not sure. I know a lot of the 50s models, but not all of them, and not a lot of the engines unless I've personally worked on them myself. I miss tinkering on older engines with single barrel carbs.

Re: Radiator replacement
I did this not too long ago myself, on my own, also using a floor jack and working slowly. It would have been easier to bring a friend over. Ziptie the intercooler and radiator together into a sandwich. Swing the ac coil out of the way and hang it off a bungee or something. Maneuver the radiator up ...

Re: Let's play Name That Car
You are correct Matt, it is a 1960 Galaxie Sunliner (convertible). I bought a 1961 Galaxie Starliner back in 1984. Looked at a lot of full size Ford products back then trying to find a 1964 Thunderbird. June

Re: WIP: Heads up display for P80
Reviving this with the first progress in a long while. Decided to switch to a lumisil IS31FL3239 as they are in stock. Also dumbed it down a bit and may try to code this in the arduino IDE to ease my way into it. Later iterations will be coded in AVR but for now i want to do this one step at a time ...

Re: Manov goes back to school Homework N° 1
Also - I'm sure they were around before that, but in WWII, various planes added superchargers to make enormous power at high altitude where there's not enough air. Spitfire, P-51, P-38...I'm sure many others. Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 P-51D.jpg merlin-supercharger.jpg image172.jpg P-38 with Allison V-...
