Re: 1999 S70 GLT ETS sensor replacement related questions.
Ok. Almost 3 weeks later Permatex Ultra Blue has finally solidified. Car throttle pedal reaction feels different and so far RPM glitches did not show up. It looks like sensor replacement in my case is a fix of the problem.

Re: Advice on buying a used XC90 model 2009-2014
Problem with the 2.5T is that it stops being produced in the US after MY06. MY05-11 is V8, otherwise your only "standard" choice starting MY07 is the 3.2 I6. I lament the fact that the 5 cylinder powerplant continued to be produced for the rest of the world until Swedish production stopped...

Ian Tyson, 89, passes in Alberta
The first live music I ever saw was Ian and Sylvia, at a tiny little club in DC called The Cellar Door. I was in high school, with a fresh drivers license and no money, but their second album "Four Strong Winds" had just been released, and I had to go. (I should have led with picture inste...

HOWTO: Circumvent VADIS expiration date
Hi all! We all know, that one of most annoying things about VADIS is it's hard-coded (maybe not that hard-coded) expiration date. Yesterday I got a bit fed-up with it (because of how annoying it is to make VirtualBox to NOT keep correct clock on guest system), and decided to do a bit of spelunking i...

Re: misc P80 T5 stuff, mostly free
Hi all, sorry to disappear for a while. Dice unit is taken, bushings are waiting on confirmation that they're needed. I tossed the injectors, coils, and fuel rail based on nobody asking about them. I also posted some seat leather on Ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/275606970493 If you want that, put i...

Re: Flat plane vs. cruciform V8 explained
That's what gives a traditional American V8 that satisfying rumble at idle and roar at WOT. And what gives a Ferrari, Cosworth, (etc) V8 that high pitched wail at high rpms. They spin faster. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2r5jL4IEOyI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qVrzCfKfQ3E&t=102s Mustang f...

Re: 1998v70 Car Will Not Start AGAIN
Air filter box, follow the accordion looking tube from there, it ends at the throttle body.

Re: Bougicord or After maket leads
If you pay shipping, from the US, I'll send you the Bougicord wires. I accidentally got a 10 valve set from FCP. They were mis-labeled, so it was neither my mistake, nor FCP's. FCP didn't want them back, and just sent me the proper 20 valve wires. I'll never use them for anything, so if you want the...

Re: Four-c shocks and struts
I am no expert in this area, but over in VW/Audi forums replacing factory dynamic ride suspension is common and they have canceler kits designed not to trigger error messages. https://neuspeed.com/en-ca/products/isweep-dcc-canceler-kit The canceller kit is designed to fool the ECU to think it is con...
