98 Saffron V70R in Edmonton Wreckers
Went to the local wreckers today, found a 98 V70R in the orange Saffron color. Looked to be in decent shape, but we'll picked over, drivetrain gone, rear hatch gone. Mileage unknown, but driver's seat boulster is worn through, but no other wear found in interior. I have never saw a light tan V70R in...

Restoration: I Bought the Cheapest Running 98 V70 T5M (2023)
I'm back from the dead. After suffering the tragic loss of my beloved 324k mi 98 S70 T5M to a rod knock, I did the right thing and went on Marketplace to buy the closest Volvo V70. To my delight it was a tuned 98 V70 T5 with a factory installed M56 and some other under the hood goodies (R manifolds,...

Re: Wastegate Readjustment 05 s60R
disconnect the actuator rod from the wastegate arm, pull the rod out and place it on top of the wastegate pivot with the wastegate fully closed, pull it far enough that a gap shows at the far side, away from the vacuum motor. Only a small gap is needed, its to provide some pre-tension and prevent th...

Re: Considering this 2013 XC90
I would also ask about oil consumption and if you have a warranty if you experience it. Volvo schedules the big maintenance for 150k miles, however, owners have found that is too late. Volvo/dealership also runs the oil change interval too long at 7,500 miles, when it should be closer to 5,000 miles...

Re: Alternator Question (yes I searched)
I didn’t know that these regulators are externally regulated, so you probably got one on the new alternator, and it’s not that. I think it’s worth a phone call to IPD or FCP with the p/n on your replacement alternator to make sure it meets spec with whatever Bosch unit you are replacing it with. Vol...

New addition, '97 850 wagon, base, M56
I just picked up this wagon, will post pics soon. I know the 9 and 2 series but am a P80 noob! Initially doing timing belt, fluids, belts, hoses etc. etc. feel free to add any suggestions. The car needs some TLC, but compression is good, clutch is solid, AC works, and it passed our state inspection,...

Re: 850r failing emissions miserably (HC and CO)
Just had another thought. A failing coolant temp sensor can cause a rich condition. There are topics in the forum on how to test if yours is in spec. Pretty simple and easy to do with a basic multimeter.

My experience of swapping a C70 amp in a V70
Hello, I spent the last 2 days working on swapping a P80 C70 amp into my 1998 V70, and I've seen a some informations on the net that didnt match what I had so I'll share my experience. This will be purely electrical, as the rest is well documented  As usual, remember to unplug the battery as yo...

Re: 96 R manual swap: the hard way?
... I'm pretty sure the subframe has to come off. You don't have to drop the subframe, you can go through the top. So it's a personal choice based on what tools you have on hand. ... I'm just wondering if it is possible to support the motor from the top with a brace and chains so that it tilts down...
