Re: What the heck is this hose?!
#38, 39, and 40 should all be replaced at the same time. If one is causing an issue, the others are not far behind with the same age on the rubber and hoses and rubber o-ring connectors. It’s also easier to just remove them as an entire unit with the intake manifold off. #40 is made of plastic so yo...

Re: Opinions wanted: Do I go through with this repair?
Thanks everyone. Appointment booked. To be honest, I love the car and deep down I knew I was going to go through with the work before I asked, I just wanted to hear more knowledgeable folks out on if I was being a total fool or not. You’ve all inspired me to tackle a control arm job myself, so that’...

Hello and thanks for access this great site
Hello and thanks for access this great site. Our house has 2004 Audi TT, 2005 Volvo S40 2.4 and 2012 Evoque TD4. Evoque have same parts as some Volvos. S40 has many parts from Ford etc -> when one can be member in many forums, you could get better overview instead being in one specific forum only.

Re: Winter wax?
2006 xc70 Is there a wax, etc. that I can use to prepare for the upcoming NY winter? Assume I have washed and clayed the finish. If you have done a good job of cleaning and clay bar, I would definitely take a little more time and ceramic coat as we did with our 08 C30. At your first wash use Techni...

Re: 1998 V70 Base barely accelerating from stops
Any recommendations of what to check? I was thinking maybe to pull the O2 sensor at the cat or front ( which one?) to see if it could be a plugged CAT. I haven't replaced that in a very long time... Is that a wise move? It has the symptoms of a clogged exhaust system. It could be any component in t...

Re: Non-Volvo car chat megathread
. Giant of a racer in a what looked like a miniature racer but it's not. . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HPDcReKzBbQ . One of the legends, that car. And yes, I've read how in pictures it always looks like the big bad 917, but drivers in person say they were really small, and your knees were up be...

Re: Non-Volvo car chat megathread
Thought of another thing - some of the tube chassis were made of aluminum. Some were made of titanium. Just enough metal to do the job. Some of the chassis were pressurized with a gas, with a pressure gauge and switch. If a crack formed, pressure was lost, a warning light would go off - STOP!
