Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Drove the 1998 T5 Manual 1300 miles round trip from Sacramento to St. George Utah. No problems, 25-28 MPG driving 72-78 mph and mostly at 4000 ft elevation with many passes at 6500-7700. Hit 159k miles on the way there. Thought I used 3/4 qt on way there, so added a full qt for drive back thinking i...

Re: Broken coil spring '07 V70 136K
Nope. This unfortunately is not an unheard of issue with both the front and rears on P2 cars. We had to replace the rears about 7-8 years ago when our 06 X70 only had about 100k miles on it as it was broken. When I redid the fronts, I did them as well.

Re: '14 XC70 seat back loose - WHIPS - looking for info on R&R procedure
I’ve got this exact same issue. Any follow up info would be great. Thanks! I should have come back and posted an update. There were a few unknowns that caused me to ask the dealer to install the replacement parts. There is a spring with a lot of tension that I was not certain I could disengage/re-e...

Re: Aftermarket ECU for '97 850 T5 (Wagon)
What Matt said - get a generic t5 ECU for starters. May not match your emissions setup but sounds like those few codes will be minor. 1997 T5 was Motronic 4.4, the 1996 turbos were Motronic 4.3 so better to *not* get a 96 or earlier ECU. Only the GLT(US) LPT was M4.4 in '97 (Well, for the turbo car...

Re: Volvo S60 (2001) - intake manifold bolt question, ETM plug end question
remove the starter, don't cut the wire. Its not difficult.
Junkyard or salvage yard for the bolt.
or remove a second bolt and use it as a reference buy another, volvo dealership or hardware store.

Re: Volvo S60 (2001) - intake manifold bolt question, ETM plug end question
The starter rear plate ( right side or car) traps the ETM cable on p80 and early P2 cars.
Do not cut the cable! It has CANBUS communication cales that do not splice well
Remove the rear starter plate and scrap it, it isn’t needed and was removed by Volvo in2002

Re: 98 V70 trailer
So I finally have all of the audio-related equipment for the trailer. I just bought the amp dedicated for the subwoofer. Teaser: its a retro mid-upper tier German brand that did not market much, if any, in the US. But supposedly they make some of the best audio gear. Teaser/spoiler: 1x C70 4x100 (al...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Continue to repair my 850. Today, I've tried to disconnect the fuel tank. The both hoses didn't want to come and they broke... I prefer not to speak about fuel hoses... Fuel pump connector.jpeg The outer size of the the nipple on the top of the fuel pump is 9mm. Can i use these replacements parts ? ...
