When were to O2 sensors last changed? Like you say, the only other possibility would be a vacuum leak somewhere, so best way to tackle is a cheap smoke tester.

I think the handle will be separate from the window switch. I do not remember doing anything to my 2001 V70 handle when I tried to replace my window switch. The window switch seems to be electronically mated to the drive side and a used replacement did not work for me.Or maybe I got a used base mode...
