Re: 2003 Xc90 6T w/69000 miles ...Run away or Buy?

I will answer your question from two angles. My family owns both a 2004 XC90 T6 and a 2016 XC90. Over the years I have owned various other Volvos with both the 2.5T and 2.9 engine. I think this will be helpful as it will give you insight into how much the car costs to maintain. To help keep househol...

P2 cloth A-pillar cover retrofit with plastic

Photos below after text. I recently replaced my peeling 06 V70 fabric A-pillar covers with plastic covers from earlier years. Identifying the correct parts was not straightforward to me (relatively new to Volvos), so here is a writeup to help the next person who wants to try it. The P2 V70 and S60 f...

URO Trash Strikes Again

When I first got this car it had a really bad oil leak. Turns out the rear cam seal popped out behind the cam sensor. I figured it was likely due to a blocked PCV system so I replaced it all with a URO Parts PCV system. 5.5 years and 20k miles later the car is leaking a bunch of oil from the front o...

Re: URO Trash Strikes Again

URO assures us that procedures and materials have been markedly improved since PO's date of manufacture. Let's hope so as I've used some of their parts since then. The heavy duty spring seats have been used in our XC90 and I think the little PCV bottle to engine block tube as pictured above as well ...

Re: S60 Speaker upgrade - sizes, wiring, connectors - How to & what to buy

One thing, use care when removing the door speakers. They have a while sticking seal on them, if this seal is not in perfect condition, water will leak from inside the door, into the fool well, underneath the carpet

Re: 2006 V70 -- Hit Last Night on Commute Home

So to close the loop here, not surprisingly, the car is a total loss. $8,600+ to repair. Initial insurance offer (New Jersey Manufacturers) was $4,200 as total loss settlement. I studied their third-party contractor's valuation and noticed five missing components of value:1) metallic paint, 2) integ...

Re: Diary of a 17 y/o with an 850

Looks like a 1/2" breaker bar that had a 1/2" to 3/8" adapter on it. Better off with black iron (impact) sockets for dealing with wheel lugs whenever possible.
