Re: Volvo Findings! (What have you found on Craigslist?)

Not a craigslist find, but something that might be of interest to the MVS crowd. I spotted this while doing some research for my daughter. It was probably a trade in towards an Outback. It’s a two owner 1997 960 with 95k miles and a fee Carfax report. Unfortunately, there is no price listed. https:/...

Re: Fix a Volvo flip/switchblade key - DIY, pics and advice

I did mine this morning...at least the disassembly part. A doner fob is on its way in the mail. Here's a video of my experience although more that sufficient info is already available in the invaluable thread!

Re: Fix a Volvo flip/switchblade key - DIY, pics and advice

I have done this 3 times now, and have purchased a couple of donor keys because I never seem to get the "fix" to last longer than about 6 months before the case splits. Super glue, epoxy, surface prep or not, eventually they all separated. Had some hardware around and put in a little torx ...

Re: I found the cure for stiff dry Volvo leather!

Update: For weeks the oil worked below the surface as the the leather became softer to the touch. I decided to reapply today. So I took a picture of the dark looking cracks that appear while the leather is wet with the product. When absorbed they disappear and the leather looks great. I can't get ov...

Re: 2001 2002 AW55 transmission, history, stop/start software

(hopefully this is in the right place) I searched for someone who had this specific surging issue. While I found a few examples of folks with this behavior, I never found a definitive “this is what it was and this is how we fixed it.” I hope this helps one of those people ... Short version: The auto...

Re: $10,000 S80 Challenge

Update on my 2010 S80 Maintenance I replaced the Auxiliary Belt, and two pulleys Note: the pulley for the tensioner is the same pulley used for the idler, I didn't replace the tensioner because it was working fine. Here is the thread I created for this maintenance on my LR2 Its almost the same on th...

Re: Welcome to the S60, V60 and XC60 Forum!

I've been browsing around your site for the past couple of days now, so much information to absorb! As you can expect, Japanese cars are 90% of what you see on the road here, but Volvos have a pretty decent presence. Since I now have one, it's normal that I notice them more often, and usually see on...
