Re: Hey Everyone
My 1999 T5 was saved by this site. I had no experience outside VAG group, and my first major foray under the hood made me go search the web for resources, way back in 2013. Of the Fora I found, the expertise and adult nature of the content here, and lack of text talking, made MVS the gold standard o...

Re: $10,000 S80 Challenge
Damn that's pretty. Matt, I really appreciate you saying that. I am really happy with the look of the new wheels and the grip from the new tires. Note: I bought the Wheels with Michelin tires from a seller on Craigslist for $400. The Michelin tires were too big for the S80 but they are the correct ...

Re: $10,000 S80 Challenge
MVS readers, I wanted to update the Team on the Nokian Z-line A/S tires. For anyone not familiar with Nokian they are a tire maker located in Finland and they are famous for making amazing snow tires. Because it doesn't snow where I live I opted for the High performance all season tires. My review s...

Re: Hey Everyone
My 1999 s70 was save by this site. After a minor accident, my front subframe was bent.. No way that would have been economical to fix. You folks showed me how "easy" it was to swap in a new frame. Did it in my driveway.

Re: Hey Everyone
As much as I would love to say MVS saved my car somehow, that wouldn't be the case for me. MVS has been a fun place to interact with other Volvo enthusiasts and most of all I have learned so much reading about other people's problems with their repair that fixed the problem. And no post about MVS wo...

Re: Volvo 850 T5 boost issue
The pressurized intake tube from turbo to intake may be loose. The extra boost you enjoyed, may have partly blown off the tube. Just reposition and tighten the clamps.

Re: Oil pan gasket replacement
Bad O-rings wouldn’t be the first thing I’d look at for a tapping/ticking. Might want to get a stethoscope to zero in on where it’s coming from to gauge importance/severity. Have you been underneath it to look for leaks? Are you sure it’s not a knock? There isn’t a gasket that seals the oil pan to t...

Re: Oil pan gasket replacement
Dmarks - Pete's advice is pretty solid. I will expand a bit. At your miles it would not hurt to tackle the oil pan and the corresponding o-rings. FCP kit is solid, but you can skip their sealant. Just source some Permatex Anaerobic Gasket maker and a foam roller/tray from the dollar store - that is ...

Miracle at 1st Capitol St.
What a crazy week it has been! After the power steering rack replacement, Herman has been driving very nicely again! On Thursday I received an order for 606 units to pickup from Aldi's. Turned out to be all canned goods for a canned food drive. Took three carts to get all of those cans out of the st...
