628 ECU for 850's
So, I recently installed a 628 ECU and it works great. It feels like I have a little more boost everywhere, not just for 7 seconds, 30 seconds, or whatever the literature claims. This is in a MY94 850. If I didn't know better I'd say either Volvo was fibbing, or something was lost in translation whe...

Re: 628 ECU for 850's
There are a number of variations of the various ECUs, including the R ECUs, for different emissions control configurations and markets. Not all have their part numbers listed in VIDA or other parts documentation. hardware-wise, the bosch (0 261 xxx xxx) number is what matters. The volvo P0xxxxxxx nu...

Re: S-80 Timing belt questions
I just did this on my 1999 S80 T6, take the 4 bolts off and mark the pulley and balancer to ensure you put it back in the same orientation. This does not effect the pulley as the 30mm crank nut is what holds the pulley on.

Re: onboard computer flashes---- DISC---- S70 T5
I appreciate this is an old thread I have dug up but thought this info I wrote a while ago would be of use to someone in the future: If you keep getting the Drivers Information Module (DIM) on the Phase One V/S 70 giving out the word DISC it means "Disconnected" in that the selector switch...

Re: Post Radiator Replacement Problems
First place to check is the little elbow on the end of the intake manifold, tucked in behind the power steering pump. It is hidden but accessible with a flashlight (for inspection) and long nose pliers (for replacing). You can see it in the diagram. I just added a diagram for 850 non-turbo (from a 9...

Volvo 850 DIY (50 pics!) Inner & Outer Tie Rod replacement
Inner and Outer Tie Rod End Replacement Introduction: This DIY guide shows how I replaced the TRW inner and outer tie rods on a 1997 Volvo 855 GLT with 165k miles. I benefited greatly from the write up by Nlemerise who did the job on his V70. His guide was posted on Swedespeed: http://forums.swedesp...

Dashboard Mount Repair - Version 2.0
My dashboard mount saga began about 5 years before this post with the purchase of a 1996 850 Platinum Edition turbo. When I purchased the car the right hand side of the dash was literally flopping around when going over bumps and all of the movement resulted in a lot of noise. I pulled the dashboard...

Re: 98 v70r Oil pushing out breather in valve cover
That hole gets posted about every couple of weeks. It is not a breather hole, it is a leftover from the early models (93-94). On your car it should be sealed from underneath and when it is, no oil can leak out of there. It should be bone dry. So either the cam cover didn't get sealed properly and it...
