Re: 1996 850 Wagon Service Light On
Check engine light is on, code P0133 which is an oxygen sensor. Are there more than one, and does this tell me which one? I'll search and see if I can figure it out. Edit: Okay read that this is the front one, next wondering if it is difficult to remove. Odd thing, I looked at it a month ago but co...

Re: 1996 850 NA Replace Front Oxygen Sensor P0133
Thanks very much, I watched Robert's video again and I do see what you're saying. Okay I think we're ready to do it. Thanks again everyone! +1 on the Abscate Mantra, propane is fine, you're not trying to melt anything, just get its attention so it will accept more juice and release the rust grip. S...

Re: Fuel Pump Relay Examinations 1998 v70 non turbo
This is the hardest working device in the electrical system; it is energized from just before startup until the key is back in your pocket. Aside from an academic interest, spending many hours of bench time replacing caps and reflowing joints, then putting a 25 year old relay back in the car, doesn'...

Re: 850 back seat latches not working?
I actually do have a book, but assumed this might turn into a glovebox situation.... and it still may. I saw the red levers in the trunk and couldn't move them either. I think they're in the unlocked position, but I'll have to look again to be sure. Dunno if it helps, but this is what mine looks li...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Bad day for the Kat Went to board the ferry and something let go in the fuel system above the tank Had to flat bed to indie as I’m 150 miles from garage This reads like it did not dump fuel on the ferry. Which might cause lots of excitement. volvolugnut Yeah, that would have been a really bad day S...

Re: Auction buying advice
Maybe this was answered earlier, but why does an undamaged, drivable car end up at auction? As I recall, it was listed as a charity sale; there are multiple reasons folks donate their cars to a charity instead of trying to sell it on their own, a tax writedown being one, and some people would rathe...

Re: Rehabilitating the T5M
Pretty good looking car, and running and driving to boot. Excellent job getting it home - even if it was two gulps. I lost my blue GLT to a timing belt idler failure, and was so disappointed, I couldn't bring myself to scrap it. It's sitting under the willow oak, slowly donating parts to its sibling...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
The Weather Man finally gave me something besides monsoon or arctic, so I washed the container holding all my spare cash from the last year or so.
Just found the "R" badge I bought last spring. I think it's time.
