Re: 850 R Oil cooler system upgrade (aftermarket)
I have some stuff on my project thread over on SwedeSpeed. I'd have to dig back on what I actually used. I don't remember which water pipe I used, but I know I did need to bend some of the lines around the oil squirter ports on mine. I also swapped a 16T, but it also wasn't the one suggested above ...

Re: Restoration: I Bought the Cheapest Running 98 V70 T5M (2023)
Wait, is that water pump missing teeth? That could be an original pump, getting a look at the front for evidence of ID isn't a bad idea. At over 300k, one would hope it isn't the one it was born with. The tensioner looks a bit crusty though. I was able to get the ball cup over a year ago, ordered t...

Re: New addition, '97 850 wagon, base, M56
I just picked up this wagon, will post pics soon. I know the 9 and 2 series but am a P80 noob! Initially doing timing belt, fluids, belts, hoses etc. etc. feel free to add any suggestions. The car needs some TLC, but compression is good, clutch is solid, AC works, and it passed our state inspection...

Re: Restoration: I Bought the Cheapest Running 98 V70 T5M (2023)
UPDATE: Grabbed a junkyard alternator to replace the one with no output. The brushes on the old alternator were almost nonexistent. I tried to get away with replacing just the voltage regulator, but that went anything but well. So I pulled the PS pump and just replaced the whole alternator with one...

Re: UPDATE1: 99 s70 silver awd turbo auto PARTS: anyone interested in parts? Antlers OK
Fastenal has/had a way to ship stuff between their stores, has to be strapped to a pallet so they can fork it. Used it a few times some years ago, it's a less-than-truckload deal, they didn't guarantee a time. Might be an option for high-value hard to get parts for the AWD crowd.

Re: UPDATE1: 99 s70 silver awd turbo auto PARTS: anyone interested in parts? Antlers OK
Let’s try get a Fastenal quote from Antlers to Albany… It used to be called something else, but try here https://www.fastenal.com/fast/blue-lane-freight When I get back to DE I'll dig out my old paperwork from the couple times I used them. Pretty painless; the fee was based on miles as opposed to s...

Not something you see every day. There is a shop that specializes in putting that motor in the little Benz.

Re: Near-collision II: Austin 2/4
A former head of the NTSB did an analysis from the ADS-B ( Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast ) data, and during a TV interview pointed out that the tail of a 737 is 41 feet tall; the data shows the FedEx plane didn't arrest the descent until it was 75 feet above the ground, and it was direc...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
The T5’s previous owner kept decent service records and had an envelope with receipts, one of which shows the timing belt was replaced 10 years and almost 50,000 miles ago. Should I think about redoing the TB/WP or figure it’s still good to go? Ooof, that’s bad, Bruno. Hard to start, I bet. I’m hop...
