Re: New speakers

If indeed your front door and dash series are in "tandem", or rather in series as you've described the behavior, the dash is completely flattening what little bass the door speakers can produce, and a good bite of the midrange as well. From the factory, the front dash and doors are indepen...

Re: 1999 V70R possible burnt valve?

"target market" is really the key here, not the technical concerns. * Although I wouldn't consider head skills necessary, you will need to understand your car more and more as time goes on starting right about now. It's already 14. Almost time for its own learners' permit. I'm not trying t...

Re: 2004 S40 Ignition Coils replaced, car won't move.

The engine computer keeps a memory of fuel trim settings and a bunch of other fiddly details. When something is changed that can affect mixture or ignition, best practice is to wipe out that memory.

Re: S60 clutch replacement.

+1, if you have to ask these questions, you don't want to get into it, at least not under the gun like this. People who do this job themselves have tools, some degree of developed skills, and time. You're going to spend more getting equipped than you'd save. +1 that your best move is to seek financi...

2006 S60 (P2) Fluid Specs

Matthew, I'm intending to pull information into this lead post from whatever replies follow, and that it becomes a sticky. This thread will document the fluid and change requirements for a P2 S60, and other P2 models, as information comes in. I've dug this up by searching other threads, and the web,...

Re: Financial Distress Parts Program

share your general location to see if anyone is local? Profile to the right of her post says Big Bear Lake, and Google says that's in southern California. +1 to getting some diagnostics done. Anyone in southern CA that has a DiCE/VIDA setup? alady1791, with P2 or newer Volvos, it ain't the hardware...

Re: Best OEM sound system for 850 sedan?

That 960 had THE BEST stereo system i have experienced in 26+ cars The finest stereo I have ever experienced, in a car or anywhere else, is the factory Premium setup in my 2012 C70 T5 Platinum. 14 speakers and 1400 or so watts. Inside 30 seconds of listening, I knew I'd never tamper with that system.

Re: Is it possible I moved my timing, changing rear camshaft seal?

abscate wrote: 22 May 2021, 07:04 If you didn’t take the belt off
I think he's worried that he torqued so hard on the back of the cam that he made it jump a tooth.

It does seem unlikely to me, unless the belt was already on the edge of shot.

Re: Timing help needed

If it's cranking, your problem isn't timing. The symptoms of timing being off are, running like crap if it's 1 tooth off, and the pistons kissing the valves if it's 2 teeth off. Start with the basics - is it getting fuel/air, is it getting spark, does it have compression. Wait a second - the timing ...
