Re: Programming new key/remote
Hi, I just went through this and did it myself. I had the keys programmed by a place in Kansas City that specializes in car keys (https://www.brandtlocksmiths.com). They cut the key for $10 using my valet key to copy it -- though it will be more if they have to look up the key code based on your vin...

Re: Just bought 2006 S60 2.5T AWD, 212K
Nice looking car! Here are replies to a few of your points. Did you check if the AWD works? Get all four wheels in the air, put it in drive, the rears should spin. On an 06 the AWD is not extremely sensitive to tires but I'd keep them close in treadwear. As you said 6 years is getting old, a new set...

Re: Just bought 2006 S60 2.5T AWD, 212K
Good to see you back, Kevin. Congrats on the S60. Castrol synth is becoming a standard, like Mobil 1 was. It's factory in my 2017 VW Alltrack for instance, so I bought it for my oil changes. Question: do you or anyone in your area clean/spray off the underside of your cars to get salt off? It's not ...

Re: 2006 S60 (P2) Fluid Specs
Pentosin CHF 202 and 11s are compatible, can be mixed. Also, for the few parts that I needed right away my Volvo dealer would match or come real close to the discounted prices on the Volvo parts web store. You just have to ask and act like you don’t need it that day. Lol

Re: Just bought 2006 S60 2.5T AWD, 212K
Headlights - I’ve used a Ceracote product a few times on my vehicles. It’s about $25 on Amazon. Costs more than others, but it’s the only one that I used which actually provides good results. Just follow the directions closely and don’t rush through the early cleaning steps. Worked really well on my...

Re: 2006 S60 (P2) Fluid Specs
Use good brand name fluids, find one you like and stick with it. Don’t mix brands, especially Shell and Mobil products.

Re: Please help liberate this tie rod
You can put a small floor jack or bottle jack under the tie rod end and apply pressure upwards. This will seat the tapered tie rod shaft into the spindle and prevent it from spinning, allowing you to remove/install the nut with an impact wrench.
