Re: O2 sensor removal tool?

I've used a hose clamp around the split O2 sensor tool to help keep it from flexing.

Re: O2 sensor removal tool?

Brush off the rust and long soak it with Liquid Wrench the night before you attempt to remove the sensor. If you think you need heat, you can run the engine to heat the sensor threads. Just watch what you are doing. Wear long sleeves and gloves so you don't burn yourself. If you get it to move a lit...

Re: O2 sensor removal tool?

Along with the suggestion for liberal amounts of penetrating oil. I have come to favor a certain type of O2 sensor socket. o2.png The one on the left is much shorter and therefore I think is less prone to flexing open. With that said, the use of a hose clamp around the socket as mentioned above is a...

Re: Power seat issue, 95 850

scot850 wrote: 24 Aug 2021, 18:21 Hardest part is getting the seat out and getting the seat back cover pulled up high enough to fix the cable as Rick says.
Fix it from the motor end, which is more accessible.

Re: Differences in n/a 850 Throttlebodies?

The few throttle bodies I have tinkered with had some sort of hard epoxy dabbed on to the throttle plate screws. I assumed that it was done to prevent the very rare case of one of the screws working loose and being ingested into the engine. When I switched plates I used a little loctight instead.

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

98 V70 with 293k: Changed the fuel pump in a parking lot 1700 miles from home. Had to buy a voltmeter otherwise I had what I needed with me. Thanks abscate for the tech support! FYI this car was throwing recurring P0172 codes for a few days before the pump completely died. Changing the fuel pump got...

Re: 2000 V70R electrical issue continues

In Canada you guys have mandatory Daytime Running lights or DRL. WE can toggle ours on or off in the States with a little switch on our light switches you turn with a small screwdriver, your switch won’t have that unless someone has replaced it with a liberated one from South Canada. Thst mightbe wo...

Re: 2000 V70R electrical issue continues

You seem to be missing the 101/102 combo relay.
105 and 106 are the gray ones stamped “Volvo”.

Re: 2000 V70R electrical issue continues

Could it have to matter with the the dashboard handset in itself ? To read your initial post, i make me think that the power "goes everywhere" inside. Is there a protection in it that could have been burnt while you've plugged accidentaly the battery ?

Re: 2000 V70R electrical issue continues

Cancel that ETM voltage test. The ETM gets all of its wiring direct from the ECu. Here is the main BuS feed to from the ignition switch. Get an analogue JP meter on the fuse 11B/1 and watch it carefully while you power up, start the far , then turn the light switch on. 11B/1 us in the kidney fuse bo...
