Re: 2000 V70R electrical issue continues

Currently can you describe the exact issue you are having? Is it a drained battery or dim dashboard lights or dim headlights, etc. Thanks. Dim lights indicate a voltage drop on that circuit. A bad ground would act like a resistor and drop voltage across that contact. Corroded supply side wire connec...

Re: Are 99-00 DIM units swapable?

The dealer says that there may be an issue with the DIM unit on my car. As they are NLA, can I swap over a used unit from another car? I know you can on 98 and on 850's. If you can is the only issue the mileage recorded that would be wrong? Am I correct the 'R' speedo head/DIM is different to the r...

Re: 2000 V70R electrical issue continues

Re: 2000 V70R electrical issue continues

If the battery is on light duty you want the maintainer , not the solar option.

Those Sonic Blues sell easily.

Have a couple of DIM units down here. I’m not sure where the unit mileage is stored.

Re: 2000 V70R electrical issue continues

When I was not using the car for a while I removed the battery and charged it before storing it in a warm room. Batteries do self discharge. That what a battery maintainer is for. The maintainer continuously replaces what the battery self discharges. There use to be a myth that the electricity esca...

Re: Are 99-00 DIM units swapable?

I have a slightly better than basic OBDII tester which can be set to brand specific. Set to Volvo it came up with 2 codes. I will re-confirm the numbers but if I recall correctly they were: P1618 - Wiring error to transmission P0608 - General error, VIN# and trans You can't trust the generic OBDII ...

Re: 98 v70xc boosting at 15 topping out at 20 psi.

This is an old thread but maybe I can help someone else out at some point When using the Torque App you need to create an accurate profile for your vehicle before it can give you an accurate reading on several of its readings, such as the vacuum/boost gauge. The app uses a default of a 1.5L 4 cylind...
