Re: Possible connector issue
The Bosch ETA on that car is VERY sensitive to connections. Volvo techs do not unplug them when doing work on cars, they unbolt throttle and set it aside due to the incidence of comebacks for throttle codes and reduced engine performance message. There is a throttle pigtail sold by Volvo and they di...

Re: Airbag resistance too high
No, it should be an orange connector housing. The box in your picture is only the power seat module, there are some other connectors higher up on edge of front seat cushion. On a 2004 there may a "gang plug" and the orange connector is docked in it. I think the harness in foreground of thi...

Re: S60 Brakes Stuck occasionally - 2007 S60 2.5T
It is possible that caliper hardware or bad calipers on the diagonal master cylinder shared circuit both fail at once. I have not seen that but when I have had the booster fail to retract fully it was always those wheels on P2 and some Volvos with frt/rear split it would be front brakes as the front...

Re: XC60 T5 Fuel Pressure Sensor
The fuel pressure sensor is at the driver's end of cylinder head on a steel line. The line and sensor should be replaced as they updated the sensor and it takes a new fuel line for it to fit.. There may be an extended warranty on it or covered by 8 yr/80K mile emissions warranty.

Re: 2004 S80 MAP Sensor Location
I think you are going to have to get a read with manufacturer specific codes. Some scanners will read the code in some coars and the conversion list to P type codes from manufacturer specific codes is wrong. There is no MAP sensor on a 2.9 non turbo as it has Bosch Motronic 7.01 and that system does...

Re: Can you check a timing belt without taking it off?
Timing belts are not good for guessing. EPDM rubber has made cracking less likely to occur so cracking is no guide. Driving easy and slow is not as good as higher revs as low revs and the tight-loose cycling be worse. Higher speed gives the cams more inertia. Heat quickens the death. Oil leaks have ...

Re: 2004 S80 MAP Sensor Location
It might but that is not a plug n play ECM change. The dealer can't install a used one and Xemodex charges $300 plus to clone your info from old one to a used one you supply. I do not trust the code you have to be accurate for the problem.

Re: XC90 - 2008 - V8 - could this be a gear position sensor issue?
No, the gear position sensor is an integral part of the TCM that mounts on top of trans around the gear lever shaft. The manual shift function is the control of the GSM, gear selector module. That is the top cover of the gear lever assembly/shifter inside car. There is a magnet on the gear shift sha...

Re: MC Brake Pressure Connectors ??
Here are photos from my F450. It uses the same sensor and connector. I don't have a Volvo here today with DSTC with the sensors. One photo shows my thumb depressing the tab that releases it and another shows the tab on the more narrow end. It is barely rectangular.

Re: Anal retentive
Prior to old pads being removed you often will have to pry the caliper open a bit. The wear edge on rotor often binds things up and makes this step aggravating if this isn't done. Once pads are removed the pins the calipers slide on, in this case the 7mm hex long bolts, need to be lubed with silicon...
