I know this is an old post, but I just finished up a timing belt job on my 2001 V40 and I too was stumped in trying to remove those studs. Fuel pump fuse is the blue 15A that's paired with the red 10A fuse, just to the right of the yellow clip that holds 3 fuses.

Might as well check all of them though.

The crankshaft pulley has two teeth with marks on them which line up with a single notch on the engine in the middle of those two teeth as shown here:
