Re: For Sale 05' Volvo V70, base, 5-speed manual, mistral green tan, 157k

If you can, hold out for the right buyer. I should probably give up on waiting for an interestingly colored P2 V70R 6-speed and just buy this. However, I've spent so much restoring my 2000 V70 that I am inclined to keep it for a decade. You'd likely get a good amount selling it on Cars And Bids. It'...

Re: For Sale 05' Volvo V70, base, 5-speed manual, mistral green tan, 157k

Re: 99' S70, 5-speed, Immobilizer Problem. End of the road for Matilda?

Here is how a 1999 OBD talks to the ECU IT first goes into the driver instrumentation module or DIM, see yellow lines The green lines follow it out into the ECU , module 4/46 by number. Any wiring fault between these will look like a bad ECU The DIM to ECU path isn’t as bad as it looks, these diagra...

Re: 99' S70, 5-speed, Immobilizer Problem. End of the road for Matilda?

Seems to be the case with much of Volvo's electronics where you have to buy and new part to replace a broken one. Can't use a used one as the programming is a one shot use. It was the same with the DIM on my 00 R. Had to buy one to fix it but fortunately the original one was just suffering a loose c...

Re: 99' S70, 5-speed, Immobilizer Problem. End of the road for Matilda?

Is the immobilizer unit the small box on the LHS of the steering column or the larger one above the LHS footwell? https://www.volvovancouverparts.ca/a/Volvo_1999_S70-25l-5-cylinder/_51513_5702581/Electronic-starter-inhibitor-immobilizer/GR-70680.html Is this #2 on the drawing above? Neil. Yes it is...

Re: Visiting Sweden

I've been there multiple times. Absolutely beautiful country! My first time camping with a bunch of friends on the coast outside Gothenburg when I was 20. We actually drove by the Volvo factory and had no clue. At that time I didn't know much about Volvos although I already liked them. Go if you ca...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

What a wonderful find! Glad to see they still turn up every once in a while. It would be hard to let that go unless it is just too nice to use! Neil. Thanks Neil, I took a look around this evening and discovered fresh oil, a new front oxygen sensor and a brand new AC compressor with new receiver dr...

850 Bumper and trim restoration

I've been wanting to restore the bumper covers and trim on Sveedy for some time, but have put it off due to not being able to find a good product in, and here's the key, the right color. The bumpers and trim on 850's are a sort of charcoal gray color, not true black, and like most plastic covers, mi...
