Re: WTB, Volvo S70 Thule cross bar mtg feet
Dirk, can you post the bars you are looking for and the parts you need if you can. There is a car in a junkyard, but I think the roof rack was for a non-roof rail car. I need to check my garage as I think I may have only one rail for a roof rail car. The bar is 'tired' but the mounts may be ok. I wi...

Re: WTB, Volvo S70 Thule cross bar mtg feet
Hi Dirk, made time to get the example of my own 'non-rail' cross bars down to take a picture. This version, which I am fairly sure is the same as the set at the junkyard, have riveted end mounts. The rivets run right through the body of the bar and are swaged at the other side. So I guess the ends c...

Re: WTB, Volvo S70 Thule cross bar mtg feet
I'll keep looking. I thought I had seen a different version with the ends being able to slide on the longer cross bars, but not seen the one for the gutter mount type, only for the roof rails. I'll keep a look out.

Re: WTB, Volvo S70 Thule cross bar mtg feet
So, I have the Thule stuff on both of our 850's. They are using the 400XT Aero feet mounts with the #161 Fit Kit. The fit kit includes the foot pads (#26 (4)) and the clips (#120 (2) and #261 (2)). These fit the square bars. https://turbochuckcom.ipage.com/webimages/projects/97%20Volvo%20854T5/2021/...

Oil pan removal and reseal
As a "stage 2" procedure of replacing the PCV system in my car a few months ago, I was concerned about the possibility of the PCV drain port in the oil pan being clogged and wanted to get the oil pan off and ensure that it was clear and also clear any gunk out of the oilpan before reinstal...

Re: 06' V70 Front End Damage Repair
that took quite the hit.
time to start watching bodywork videos,
a comealong winch with steel cable helps pull things back into position.
anchor it to tree.

Re: 06' V70 Front End Damage Repair
I would highly doubt running the car that long caused any damage. Any overheat codes or warnings on the dash? Recently had a water pump go on 02 S60 and ran for a couple short periods too. I think that is very fixable, especially if you can find a cheap donor car. Once you get the hood off you can s...

Re: 06' V70 Front End Damage Repair
Totally fixable and worth it. Understand the usual time balance.
I see nothing indicating frame bending. Fender measurements coming
Engine will be fine, not to worry

Re: 06' V70 Front End Damage Repair
The car looks like a good one and certainly worth fixing, it doesn't look like a beater. There's so many of these in the wrecking yard right now that repair is just a matter of cataloging a parts list and doing a lot of R&R. Kelly Blue book value doesn't apply as far as I'm concerned with these ...
