Re: 850 Sway bar bushing

I recall my brother saying that the Volvo techs he knew said Volvo did the bonding to stop groaning of a standard seal that is only clamped around an anti sway-bar Problem is when the detach they are worse as you have to clean all the old material off. Volvo did strangely sell replacement bushes but...

Re: 850 Sway bar bushing

I believe that your front anti sway bar is 20mm. You could check with calipers to be sure.
Be careful about what you use to grease poly bushings. Some lubricants will break down the poly over time.

Re: 850 Sway bar bushing

The stock bushings are bonded to the bar. I've tried burning them off, but in the end, I cut them off and ground off the residual bushing material. We have poly bushings on both cars. The biggest issue we've run into is a "clunk" as the bar slides back and forth when the front suspension t...

Re: 850 Sway bar bushing

Those Energy Suspension anti-sway bar bushes look like the ones I had but mine were 25mm as they were for an IPD HD anti-sway bar, but like I said earlier, mine have grease nipples fitted to allow you to inject grease into them without removing using a grease gun and appropriate grease. Re: 850 Crankshaft pulley question

It never fails and there is nothing that can fail on it unless it is bent or hit by something...in fact your old one is good enough just like brand new one(if it is OE Volvo).
There is absolutely no need to touch it at all.
No gains and no losses too.

Re: 850 Crankshaft pulley question

You don’t need to remove or block the time belt , Manov. I would leave the SERP belt on and use an impact to remove the three M6 bolts, then remove the SERP belt and the harmonic balancer

Oops. Made mistake. You need to remove the 30mm crank nut , too.

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

I found a rear bumper shell in a pretty decent shape at the bone yard the other day. Made my S70 look a year or two younger if I may say so.
