Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Hi Volvo drivers gang So today, i've tried to replace engine mounts... The one under the gear box, no problem. Everything was a little bit rusty but two forearms later it was in place. The one front, was easy too. I have to order the one under the crankshaft pulley, the rubber plays in the holder. ...

Re: 850 Crankshaft pulley question
To properly torque the 30mm nut back onto the crank you will need a means to hold the crank from turning. There are tools available to buy or you could make your own. Details available if you need more information.

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
I'd put all zero of my pennies on it being for driving lights.
ARB bushings don't look great either, I'd add then to the to-do list. The last pic is just map sensor and ac lines, of it's functional then its fine.

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
ARB bushings don't look great either, I'd add then to the to-do list. Unless the subframe is being dropped, it's not worth the effort to remove the bar just to wrestle with getting the old bushings off and new ones on. Especially for the stock bar. The bushings look bad, but it's more cosmetic, rea...

Re: 850 Crankshaft pulley question
Manov, you can put two long M6 bolts into the harmonic balancer holes and then counter hold with a stick or a long breaker bar

Re: 850 Tires
Interesting thing: cars with 16'' rims for European market were factory equipped with 205/50 tires. And 205/55 for USA with the same rims. All markets had 205/50/16 in the begining. Volvo decided to switch to a higher(55) profile later in the production because of customer complaints about bent rim...

Re: 850 Tires
It is a North America parking by 'touch'. The higher sidewalls were less prone to sidewall splits. Many tires are good today. Any of the brands mentioned are good as well as Pirelli, Vredstein and Gislaved. It for me comes down to price and what type of driving you do. I have used Toyo as I found th...

Re: 850 Tool question
Facom make good tools. Either are good, but I prefer the older style as you can add a little piece of pipe to get more leverage. The 'T' type with the plastic may be able to do that but the plastic can crack. As for WD-40, probably just as well peeing on the bolts. More likely to help remove the rus...
