Re: Alternator - 120A, 140A, or 160A?
The biggest one is always safe if price differences aren't too big. The only reason there are options is to save money when making the cars.

Re: Alternator - 120A, 140A, or 160A?
Car being the 2002 ? I think you could put any of these. Perhaps if the car had the radio amp then maybe the alternator was upgraded, but I think early years got either 120 or 140. I wouldn't worry much, just look to get a real Bosch unit, even a used one with a good pulley clutch. What is really im...

Re: Seat Cushion Swap
As above, don't mess with your pass seat because of that weight/SRS sensor, rather get a bottom section and the spring base from the junk yard No for complete seat swap, just swap the bottom cushion complete with the foam, skin and spring base. You'll need a 2004-up seat. These are not too bad to sw...

Re: Brakes going bad? 02 V70 2.4T
First check the break fluid level. Low on fluid can cause the symptoms you listed. ABS = A nti-lock B raking S ystem. Locking the brakes use to get people in deep shit. The coefficient of friction decreases when the tires are sliding. They start sliding and have a "Oh, Rob" moment at the w...

Re: Brakes going bad? 02 V70 2.4T
You got water in your brake fluid over the years , and that will boil at hard braking teem-erasures
The solution is in the owner manual, which says to replace brake fluid every 2 years as a maintenance item
You have done well to escape with just a fluid refresh, kudos!

Re: Brakes going bad? 02 V70 2.4T
HOWEVER, the fluid was a nasty color, and appeared to be brown-ish/rust colored. Anyone else here seen this happen before? Causes of Brown brake fluid: Sludge from brake system parts. Moisture that is sucked into the system. Rubber or contaminants leaching out of brake lines. Heat, Anytime you comp...

Re: Brakes going bad? 02 V70 2.4T
I asked the indy shop about changing the fluid years ago, and they espoused that doing so was "a waste of your hard earned money"...so I didn't do it.... Ouch. Well, it is wasting your money when you buy other cool things instead of giving it to them for a full brake job every 5 years. Se...

Re: V70 2.4T (P2) ECM-262A (P2097) - upper O2 sensor?
What kind of voltages do you get under load (ie: driving w/boost) w/ViDA/DiCE hooked up?
Upstream is definitely reporting high values.

Re: V70 2.4T (P2) ECM-262A (P2097) - upper O2 sensor?
don’t appear to have any intake or exhaust leaks. The engine will typically die when I start it unless I step on the gas a bit during starting. I don’t have ANY trouble with driving on the highway or acceleration (plenty of power, which I know I would not have if the turbo intake were leaking). Tha...

Re: V70 2.4T (P2) ECM-262A (P2097) - upper O2 sensor?
To get you started, don’t obligate yourself to do the job twice. Have new vac hose ready to install. Get THIS stuff ahead of time. Most vac hose available is ~2mm wall thickness. The above is 4mm ID & 3mm wall thickness. Obviously inspect the lines best you can, but replace them all while you’re...
