Re: Intermittent Starting Issue with Excessive Cranking During Cold Weather
Went out this afternoon to look at it some more and low and behold it started fine as if nothing happened. Temperature rose to about 43 today and its supposed to be warmer then average all week with 70 possible for a high Wednesday, so I'm pretty sure I'll get no reaction the rest of the week.

Re: slow passenger front window
Not the mechanisms, it's the rubber trim at the bottom of the glass that is worn (causes lot of friction) or even broken and a piece got trapped between the glass.
Most often time it's the trim on the inside.

Re: slow passenger front window
The second one, the rubber trim that sits at the top of the door car. The exterior one can be pulled by hand, while the interior one needs the window lowered and the door card removed (careful when placing it back as it can go in several ways in but only one way is correct).

Re: strut mount replacement
It's quite easy but time consuming to DIY. You have to compress the springs which takes some time and effort without the right equipment. You can easily do just the mounts. But before you start doing the work check for leaks in the struts and so on so you don't replace one part at a time and end up ...

Re: strut mount replacement
My two cents ( 5 cents?) (1) Way back in the original post, the spinning top nut indicates a bad spring seat, *not* a bad strut mount. This is a big difference, a quality spring seat is a $25 part (oragex comments about Sachs and CRP brands does apply to spring seats), strut mounts is at least twice...

Re: rough idle especially in reverse with wheel turned to the right
Check motor mounts and the orque mount and look at the hose that comes from MAF sensor to turbo inlet. The motor moves a different way fore-aft for reverse and the engine moves left -right due to steering rack being on the subframe and subframe mounting the car body with rubber bushed mounts. You ma...

Re: Banjo bolt delete?
The placement of that banjo bolt is beyond stupid, it's just plain evil.

Re: How to tell if head gasket is blown
Easiest way I know is check for bubbles in the coolant reservoir. With the car cold, carefully remove the coolant cap. Then start the car. Be careful your not too close as the coolant may shoot out if the head gasket is blown Milky color on the dipstick or oil filler cap.

Re: brief hesitation at highway speed
2008 S60 2.5T 202k miles I've had this vehicle for about 10 years now. The car runs and idles like new. Only issue is a brief hesitation/stumble that occurs at highway speeds. I'm typically cruising at 50-60 mph, and when I go to accelerate, there is some hesitation/stumble that happens for about 2...
