When was the last time you cleaned the MAF sensor?
It sounds like it is getting the wrong Air/Fuel ratio when you step down and takes a few seconds to recover and get it right.

Re: Source of screeching noise?
You can use a hose as a stethoscope to track down the noise source. Did it still make the noise with the serpentine belt off?

Re: rumbling sound/vibration when shifted into reverse
Hi so I’ve actually had this issue and was scared that my transmission was giving out. I have a p3 XC70 which isn’t too different when it comes to engine layout. I fixed the issue by replacing my right hydraulic mount which sits under the torque rod. I also replaced my transmission mount which is al...

Re: Shopping for new rims for 2008 S60 2.5T
If you're not in a hurry and okay with used stuff, I'd scan craigslist for a while and see what comes up. Where I am, full sets of different wheels come up all the time in decent condition. Volvo uses a 5x108 pattern which is used by a few other vehicle types (I think Ford also uses this pattern), s...

Re: Shopping for new rims for 2008 S60 2.5T
Some of the P2’s came with 18’s from the factory - yes, they should fit. Might have a little rub at full lock though. There’s been a lot of wheel talk over the years so should be plenty of old threads to peruse. I have a couple pictures of 17” Thors next to 18” Atlantis and also the Atlantis’s on my...

Re: When did you last have paid service for your Volvo
. I don't trust mechanics in general. Last time was 1.5 years ago, timing belt for the 03 Odyssey as my health at the time would not allow it. A bolt was found on the ground after getting it home. Still, glad I turned it over as the TB was hanging by a thread. Prior to that was a headgasket on a 95 ...

Re: i need opinions on your ownership experience
I really like the P2 Volvos, have three in the family fleet. No electrical issues other than a MAF sensor and crank/cam sensor here and there. They do need suspension components replaced around 150k miles and maybe CV shafts, but if you go with decent aftermarket they are reasonable and easy DIY wit...

Re: Bumper and trim restore? What do I use?
I use Kiwi black (Noir) liquid shoe polish with the foam applicator. It's a Johnson and Johnson product. Easy to apply and wipe off any excess. If your plastic trim is dried out, it will soak up a lot of polish, but is a good protectant. I think it looks good, and not very expensive. Try it on your...
