Re: 2006+ XC90 Which one
1. For 2006+, there are no engines to avoid. In North America, you either have the 3.2 I-6 or the 4.4 V8. Both are very reputable (but avoid 2005 V8's). Look for service records and regular oil changes, of course. 2. No, these engines use timing chains, not belts. 3. Most around here will recommend ...

Re: V8 Alternator
It's done, and it's working so we are happy. :) All in, it took 10-11 hours. It should have been a few hours less. Taking it out was 4 hours the first day, and about an hour the second. The first day I got everything moved except the alternator - jacked the car up, disassembled the strut, disassembl...

Re: What Size are my Front Rotors?
Top photo is 316 or 336 for the front, 308 rear. I only have the photo of the 328s as I made a mistake when ordering them (the correct 336 are on the right). Don't know exactly on the 328 clip but I saw this mention in Swedespeed: "Insert the screwdriver IN the notch and then twist/pry. It's v...

Re: DIY: 2005 XC90 2.5T Throttle Body Cleaning
- Actually that rubber hose has oil and debris collecting on the outside only. Clean it and if there is no leak, you can keep the hose. That hose rarely fails before 200K miles. - The throttle cleaning is a very easy job if done as posted, you won't need to reset any computer. - I posted this DIY in...

Re: 2005 XC90 Idler Pulley Seized and Melted. New Engine?
Completed this job, and feel pretty good about the results. Overall took only about 6 hours of actual work (most of it fumbling around on dis/reassembly in the tight/awkward workspace of the belt area), completed in shorter stints as I waited for parts - got the pro parts sweden pulleys and belt fro...

Re: Fuel leaking from tank 2004 XC90
