Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
got the strut installed , test drive seems good, i might check it with string after i get my sticker. i'd buy the better compressor tool but considering the rarity of use, i bought the ones i have at least 9 yrs ago and this is the first year they saw use. I have 3 springs compressor tools, and the...

Re: Binding Exhaust Manifold studs (Doorman, non-Volvo)
Your manifold is likely warped. They all do that. Also supposed to tighten the nuts from center outwards
Volvo nuts are mishaped to oval, so they unavoidably drive the studs, too.
Torque is 25 Nm.

Re: Cause of sudden failure of multiple coil packs - '04 V70 na
The 8 mm bolt that keeps the coil at the valve cover is actually its high-voltage ground. Without that ground the coil burns. If you keep the ground contact in good shape those coils almost never die.

Re: Vida CEM swapping
It's interesting that Smok can. True, it works with its own cable, and somehow I doubt that they implemented this at the cable firmware level. When T5Luke and I started the project in 2020 there was no one cracking the pin via timing attack. Shortly after we opensourced the code and schematics, the...

Re: Injector Failure, a rare and horrific tale of woe
"C" if your pockets are light. "B" otherwise. Also before installing "B" - do "A" on it (a rebuild). At least need to replace valve stem seals, because for that to be done properly you need to degrease valve stem guides to bone dry. And correct the valve lash....

Re: Boot, CV joint, or axle?
If you want your repair to last, don't use GKN grease that comes in a kit. Not sure why they do it, but that grease is for CV joints, not tripods. Tripod requires a thinner grease, otherwise it suffers from lack of lubrication and dies prematurely. FCP has VW G052186A3 grease, use that. This is what...
