Installed USB charger
I got tired of the 12v cigarette charger falling out so I installed a USB dual port charger. I looked into installing under the HVAC controller, but there is not much room there. I also think having the cable coming from the rear is less messy up front and in the rare case I have someone in the back...

Re: bulkhead / firwall insulation
Whatever you use, cut a small piece and bring it outside and test with fire, it should not be flammable.

Re: Vida CEM swapping
D2 is "Diagnose 2" and P3 is typically using GGD.
Both are Volvo protocols, but similar to other standards.
GGD is more like UDS.
See Vida tables T121 and T122.

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
4 below zero (F!) here, roaring wind all night, Betty the Volvo won’t start. Boosted it, took my wife to work in case it won’t start again, got home, plugged it in again. It is painful out there, blows right though you. That’s two times below zero it wouldn’t start, maybe time to spring for a new ba...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
Positively Tropical! Currently -40 C/F here today. Then -2C tomorrow!!? The wind is the part I hate. Fitting a battery in the cold is not fun, especially with a bad shoulder/arm. I tried doing that to move my R into the new garage after charging it. Managed to short both terminals which led to issue...

Is wheel theft still a thing? I’ve always used brake dust as a deterrent, and its automatically dispensed.

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
I would strongly discourage the use of aftermarket parts in these cars, particularly but not limited to electronic components. For some reason, the generic nature of these parts is incompatible with P2 and perhaps other Volvo's. Troubleshooting becomes uncertain when throwing Brand X parts that ofte...

Re: 2006 V70: Replace radiator as preventative measure?
I wouldn't recommend replacing it unless you have deep pockets and are replacing it with a Volvo OEM one, then stick the one you pulled off that was serviceable in the garage attic for later, and refill with Volvo branded coolant. I recently replaced my perfectly good 20 year old radiator hoses and...
