Re: The classic ticking
The few 850ies I heard with ticking were hydraulic lifters. My 850 also has it, if the engine was sitting long, 1 lifter will stick and tick, but it usually goes away once it warms up or has been driven regularly. I would recommend to use engie oil flush before the change and maybe also additional a...

Re: 96 855: shifting not as smooth as it used to be
For flushing, just use the transmission itself to pump out the fluid and then fill up with new(same amount), repeat until reasonably clean. I also drain it before starting this, not sure if it is needed. There are a bunch of videos on yt on how to do it, I just connect hoses on the line that goes to...

Re: How to bleed the master cylinder and ABS unit?
Just had a look in the 850 service pdfs, and it mentions pressure bleeding should be done if system was empty. I recently replaced the complete ABS unit on my 850, and that is also how I did it, first bled at the abs modulator (lines to wheels) a bit and then pressure bled the whole system at the wh...

Re: pcv delete..?
Yeah, I did this as a temporary workaround once. see
It worked, but imo you really want some suction action in the crank so I'd fix it as mentioned above. Parts are not that expensive and a bigger hose and a few tweaks will make a big difference.

Re: A "REAL" fix for the 850 wiper arms
regarding wiper arms... I have tried a lot over the years. - the fix in the first post (grind the stops), it helps, and is needed, but I still had issues - s70 wipers. No, they do NOT fit, at least for me. I even tried grinding down the spot that rubs, it still rubs on the hood. - new wipers and new...

Re: Help identifying genuine 850R
From these pictures, yes, for external optics. You don't know how it looks underneath. Intakes are probably just DIY or aftermarket bling, who knows if these are even functional. Don't think it is an R. I mean, if it is well taken care of and in good condition it can still be a good buy in any case,...

Re: Wondering what to do? 1998 S70 blown head gasket
Related question. Might need to do a headgasket on my 850 in the near future... what is the most likely cause of it leaking oil? I know that the prev. owner did that job and I am afraid that he might have installed some damage along the way, from other repairs I have fixed.. Issue is that it is leak...

Re: Wondering what to do? 1998 S70 blown head gasket
I am reasonably sure it is the head gasket. Though it is not that bad yet I think... I will observe and wait... Leakage was mainly on the front, like I said engine operation is not affected. There is/was also a leak at the front cam, where the sealing surface was damaged by someone, I don't know if ...

Re: P80 S70 secret compartment , rear shelf
Silly, the 'roos are locked in the cellar, with the kids and wife and so on.
Btw, I believe from factory the 1st aid package is in that small compartment.
