Re: 1995 850 T5R

Mine failed some time ago, I just remember it looking way more complicated than I thought it would be. I bought a used replacement off ebay. Otherwise I think the jumping sounds like a good solution, I only ever use the highest setting anyways.

Re: where do you keep your phone in your 850?

Whatever works best. The vents in my 850 at least are way to unstable to support a phone. Suction can work, I use an old navigon holder because they don't make them like they used to... as with cars.

Re: V70 Steering Rack replacement: some questions

might be that the newer pump simply provides more pressure and blows out already failing seals. (I was doing a bit of research as I thought mine was leaking, but it seems fine so far.) I have bought the reseal kit from skandix just as a precaution, I think I would try to do it myself first, if neede...

Re: 94 T5 - could my timing belt been off a tooth?

Mine was also off by a bit, I didn't do the last replacement myself but shop said so. Also finally made the car perform properly, I did have a thread here because it had no power in high rpm :D My guess is that there are some people changing them that don't know what they are doing. Doubt it jumped ...

Re: V70 Steering Rack replacement: some questions

kein Problem ;) I would really replace all of them, because as you said, maybe the other side blows out next and you get to have this fun all over again. Oil thickener would also increase the pressure... so not sure that is a good idea. Sorry, I haven't done this, but don't think a nut is holding it...

Re: S70 ran out of oil :(

Sorry about the s70, sounds like it is toast :( 5W-30 is too thin. the oil won't stay in the cam/valve region long enough. I'm running 10w-60 synthetic and it helps the engine stay calm and quiet. It's also excellent for track day use. I tried 0W-40 synth, 5W-40 semi synth and 10w-40 dino in various...

Re: volvo 850 Dashboard Speaker Size

reviving this: wanted to update the audio system for a long time but never really wanted to mess too much with custom mounting. I decided to go ahead now since I found these speakers: for the dash and boot: Faital 2FE24 https://faitalpro.com/en/products/LF_Loudspeakers/product_details/index.php?id=4...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

The 850 OBD app is probably the best solution at this point, considering all of the additional functionality that's included with it. didn't know that one yet. Thanks! After updating the dash and rear speakers I did the doors today. Meh, I hate audio work, nothing fits, I had to resize the adapters...

Re: Turbo Wastegate Actuator Arm broken. Serious Issue?

Its a bit like driving a turbo car without a turbo, aka "no fun".

I'd fix it, just for the surprise of what it feels like when it is working ;)
Not sure what is damaged, if its the actual wastegate that would mean a replacement housing. Just the actuator would be much easier.

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

So, I know I am just procrastinating and not doing the important jobs, but whatever. Put a small sub (Pioneer TS-WX010A) in the rear. For now I just wanted to see if it works and how good. First car I am doing some sort of speaker overhaul to. For me this is fine, and I think it will not be in the w...
