Re: 855 T5 A/T - Lurching sometimes into P + other automatic questions

One of my 850ies had a problem that sounded similar. I never git around to find the problem and solce it. After 5 or 6 years I retired it (badly worn out oberall condition) and even though the tranny acted up for years, it never broke down. My meticilously serviced R on the other hand blew up the tr...

Re: Weak orange spark 1995 850 2,0 10V

If you haven't already, it might be a helpful to measure the voltage on the primary (low voltage) side of the coil to see if it's good. I would expect it to be > 12.6V with the car running. Also, it would be a good idea to check the engine grounds and battery ground cables are good, with low voltage...

Re: Why do undamaged P80s get junked?

The average person has no clue how to fix/maintain a vehicle and relies on a "mechanic" to deal with any problems. To most, cars are a throwaway appliance.

Mechanics work on cars for money. Working on older cars doesn't make money.

Now slightly regretting that I bought a V70 with the infamous Magneti Marelli ETM, does anybody have experiences of replacing the throttle position sensor within the unit? The issue with the ETMs is massively overblown. If you're good with soldering small electron...

Re: O2 Sensor Reading 0.5v.. Bad ECU??

Should have updated this. It ended up being my knock sensor. Knock sensor was faulty and activating causing the mixture to change.

Re: Recommendation for Volvo 850 T-5R Car Cover

I bought it in 2020 from carcovers.com It is called the Platinum Shield Car Cover for a 2000 V70R (which has the tailgate spoiler). It cost about $200 US with shipping to Canada. https://www.carcovers.com/covers/cars/volvo/v70/2000.html It has a flock type liner, a cable that runs under the car to p...

I miss you guys

Wrong forum, I know, but I miss you guys, yes specifically P80. I spent six weeks providing 24/7 care for a family member, then got a month at home where I wrestled some necessary repairs on the rusty 2000 V70 Geronimo which my girlfriend is relying on. Now I'm back providing care again, likely for ...
