P80 Fuel Pump Installation Procedure Bosch # 69693
Hello everyone, I just replaced the bad fuel pump in my 98' S70 base with this Bosch one, and since I didn't see anything regarding this particular pump on the forum I thought I would share how it went. This is on the later assembly with the short insert, not the earlier with the taller insert and t...

Re: Restoring volvo badges
I clear coated the badges last night, used 2k clear and I painted it on with a brush in order to get a thick layer of it. It smoothed out real nice, no brush marks at all.

Re: 96' 850 problem torque converter/lock-up clutch
Torque converter lockup will never be engaged in 1st gear, so it's not responsible for jerky starts.

Re: Thoughts on Injector Cleaner?
Not sure how much cleaners do. PEA is mostly used/recommended for direct injection. Probably good as a precaution, but not sure if it can fix a real problem. I disagree on dirty or gummed up injectors causing a code... as long as they put in enough fuel and it ignites it wont. You can take out inje...

Re: 96 850 R quick PCV question
And the original one is still working like a charm. Boy, do I wish I hadn't used red RTV sealant or any sealant at all.
Hard to believe this was 10 years ago.
OMG, the R turns 30 in a few weeks. It was 19 when I got it ...
This fall will make it 15 years of 850 ownership for me!

Re: 96' 850 problem torque converter/lock-up clutch
Hello everyone, thanks again for all the tips. After experiencing increasing start-up problems in wet weather/humidity and ruling out the fuel supply as the source of the problem, I replaced the entire ignition system (spark plugs, ignition cables, distributor cap, distributor finger). The car now s...

Re: HELP With Brakes.
Without knowing trail blazer anatomy, I would be concerned about bad brake hoses collapsed internally or air trapped in the ABS system if it has one. Typically a bad brake booster should have a hard pedal as there is no vacuum assist to help. I find the power bleeders are far more convenient than va...

Re: HELP With Brakes.
You might need to open the valves on the ABS module to bleed a fully drained system ftom scratch. In Volvo world there is a command in VIDA to do this. Maybe scour the Chevy Fora for that info? The good thing is GM is everywhere so you don’t have to rely on a quirky bunch of Volvo owners , it should...
