Re: 1995 Volvo 850-Won't Start Warm + Stalls after Long Idles

These are modern cars with respect to engine management and rarely diagnose by symptom - aka My car does this, what part did you replace? You have to start with the maintenance history - has the car been kept up with required stuff or are you running it all on marginal parts? New aftermarket parts, ...

Re: Maintenance Log - An expensive and naive s70 rebuild - life lessons earned and the quest to make it worth it.

If you have a turbo with intake tube over the head, changing a coli will take longer. You may be able to change some of the coils without intake tube removal if you always leave the coil/head splash covers off. Those under the tube may not be possible to remove without tube removal. volvolugnut Eas...

Re: What causes a valve to "burn"?

I haven’t figured out a way to borescope these and have a look at the part of the valve you need to see , short of taking off the exhaust manifold. I have learned the next time I see valve stem seal smoke, I’ll pull the head and do the seals rather than wait fir the droppedvalve. That will also Letm...

Re: 1995 850 AC system is empty in a day

The drier quick connect has two oring, but it is held in with a spring clip that locks the hose in place. You need a tool that slips inside the hose to both release and install this line, if you just push it in it doesn’t lock and will blow out under pressure. Here is a great YouTube on making one f...

Re: P80 Fuel Pressure Regulator Thread - Function Variations Sources DEC 2019

The FPRs are obsolete parts.

First , make sure you need one by monitoring the absolute fuel pressure at idle and at load. Your mechanic should have done this then told you the results. I’m not sure you need to chase that part, failures are rare, if it isn’t full of fuel on the vacuum side
