Re: Identifying a couple broken hoses (1997 850 T5 Wagon)

I think 23 is the only gotcha part there, with a 19x 13 ID size change Ed.. as payfoward for recent sheparding duties , let me know if you need Gates barricade fuel line for any of this work. I bought rolls to redo the S70 so have it in ample sufficiency. It’s expensive, like $6 a foot in short piec...

Re: $10,000 S80 Challenge

You are coming up on 30 months of ownership at $4500 in cap cost plus repairs, or 150 per month.

That’s really good. To calibrate, if you are driving 12k per year ( not withstanding Covid) that’s an almost all in cost of 15 cpm plus another 10 for gas and oil - half of the Federal rate of 55 cents

Re: Hard Brake Pedal

My '04 XC70 Brake booster vacuum switch also flew apart recently. Luckily, all the bits stayed in place and I put it back together using zip ties for the moment. I guess the lifetime for these switches is about 17 years. Also I assume it's a dealer only part? Volvo only butFCP has them for about $7...

Re: Banned from swedespeed

You can’t get good mods anymore. All the Swede speed mods came over to MVS for the dental benefits, plus we don’t let egg crates post here.

Re: 95 Volvo 850 Turbo won't start

Ouch, it hurts to read that. Most of us have done that in our lives, we will get through this. Break it up into three systems to begin. Is the battery still good? Take it out, charge it. See if you can get 12.5 volts steady on it, Now for the starter circuit, put the good battery back in,watch polari...

Re: 95 Volvo 850 Turbo won't start

It can take a week of daily running to get the lifters fully pumped up after a long sit. It helps after you start your car to stand in front and yell “ Go, Lifters , Go!” Of course Volvo says to keep revs below 3000 until they pump up, so stayin thst slow NJ lanes for a week Fresh oil helps too! Wel...
