I think we have had several unsuccessful install attempts with kit like that on Volvo, especially 1999+

There are mid year changes, including:

Mid 1999 change to a single motor for blend and direction on ECC

Parking brake shoe size I believe this is fake news...

I've seen an early 1999 with the reservoir style PS pump

10k is too long but he did replace the entire crankcase over that period, so his oil is relatively fresh. Thats a small amount of gunk , not to worry about that. Water Pump To Block 17 Nm (13 ft lb)

If your bolts snapped, it was not the extra 2 ft lbs, the bolts were already dead.
