Re: Brake pedal still soft after replacing everything
Remember Ni-Copp is incredibly cheap and easy to fit and flare. Bend it around a radius item to fit like a beer can (remove beer first for safety), a hockey puck, a socket, a large sombrero. Do your DIN bubble flare practice, then cut it off, put the flare nut on, repeat. Now cut it off again, and p...

Re: 1996 Volvo 850 GLT N/A radiator clips
I replace those with M6 hardware in cheap stainless which makes removal a lot less painful.

Re: Bottom Side Worklist XC70
Getting older I limit my garage stints to 4 hours. That’s enough wrenching and calisthenics for me to put my tools down and relax, and go at it another day. When I did my clutch on my P2 I planned it over 2 weekends , 4 hours per day and I learned it was much nicer on me. That was 10 years ago, and ...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
I think it’s universal on Volvo check valves that white is high pressure and black side is lower or vacuum pressure So blackside should be plumbed closer to the brake booster or to the vacuum source For a turbo, the snorkel is alway a vacuum source but the manifold is either a vacuum source or a pre...

Re: Bottom Side Worklist XC70
I got so used to doing all my own work during Covid retirement that I have been botching the time money equation badly. Staring at my beautiful T5 that needs a timesert on my cylinder head, I called Robert and found out he is in the area in two weeks.

Re: How to test VVT solenoid
You check resistance of stuff with everything disconnected. In ohm mode, your meter is in a short condition do any voltage you apply will pop a meter fuse (Fluke) or blow it up ( harbor fright). Of the course, your Fluke fuse costs more than the HF meter…. Once disconnected ,touch the probes to the ...
