Re: 1999 S70 "AWD" Rescue Thread
There's no relay on the '99+, is there? I know I had to replace the relay on my '98 to get my cruise working, but I know the '99 operates differently. No relay because there is nothing to “power up” All the throttle positioning is done in software so no vacuum pump m hoses, throttle linkage. When y...

Re: How reliable is the Volvo V70? (2004-2007)
Any 15 year old car experience will depend on how it has been driven and maintained much more than the brand,
I ca trash a Toyota in 3 months without doing anything ridiculous, the brand is driven by bland people who think Olive Garden is a good restaurant .
Ouch, I’m snarky today,

Re: How reliable is the Volvo V70? (2004-2007)
The appearance of oil just doesn’t mean much. Fine particles of carbon much smaller than the bearing passages aren’t damaging, but make the oil black earlier. My Blackstone analysis on 7500 mile (12000 km) interval shows Mobil 1 High mileage ( non-pure US synthetic) is like new on my P2, T4, and BMW...

Re: Official MVS Tool Drive for Robert - June 2019 thread
I have heard from Robert via email that , thanks to your contributions on PayPal, he is whole again. Thanks to everyone who gave! Note - we don't, as a rule, do solicitations here as we don't have resources to manage cash and the like. Per Matt, the site owner, we have made an exception here for a m...

Re: 2009 xc90 3.2 awd Better gas mileage in the summer but not in the winter WHY?
This is normal. It depends how the engines tuned also. I assume your Saab requires premium fuel which would contain more energy than regular and would even out the winter blend a little more. The energy content of premium fuel is actually lower than regular grade, but it is small amount, something ...

Re: '99 V70 No Crank No Start
Excellent - that will fix it. The simple ones are great!
Nice 15 second clip in the Bendix here - ignore the fact that his starter is toast because his Bendix gear has broken off his starter shaft.

Re: 1998 Volvo V70R
Bit pricey but if the engine is dry and it drives well go for it. Timing belt is 10 years overdue btw

Re: Bosch #0 123 505 014 Alternator Parasitic Draw

Take your alternator to a good electrical shop and have them rework it unless you are really tight for bread.
Get a used one off eBay if you need to run the car, you can also run without for a few days if you’re battery is good and you can charge it overnight
