Steve, when an engine overheats like this one, does one ever have to be concerned about the bottom end? Btw, I am seriously impressed by your work. Awww, Gee... :oops: I think we have had three bottom ends go bad on the history of this forum, They are really tough. The head goes way before anything...

With propane and wrench I’ve got 7 studs put in 20 minutes. The last three will get double nutted, MAPP or oxy acetylene and another 30 minutes to get out. So 10 studs will take one hour at $150’ an hour labor, or $15 per stud I knew $16 a stud was a ripoff...... It’s like these shops have done this...

Yikes. That’s -29C for our EU friends. That’s respectable cold even for SE FIN NOR!
Double nutted the last three exhaust studs and 60 more seconds of propane, all came out easily. Much better torque than vice grip.
Good quality steel studs are the savior here. Thanks Volvo.

Researching parts for AC refurbishment I’m seeing the suction and discharge hoses for the AC only available in Genuine Volvo at 180 USD ouch. I think I would try a new set of plugs - I had one go bad one week after install.If someone described the problem, I would suggest replacing the ignition components. But rhey are all newish.
