Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

So, so, so, sorry abscate! And thankful for the Volvo armor. These cars are far from inanimate objects, which is why many bestow them with names. I pat mine frequently and promise her continued good care in the hope that she’d care for me as Shagg cared for you. Hope the “fleet” offers some support ...

Re: 1999 s70 NA fuel trim problem Evita

We had this same code but on a 98, it turns out the O2 sensor wires were unplugged just enough that it didn't throw codes, but must have been throwing the voltage readings off. Pressing on the connectors clipped them into place, and voltage values read through Torque seemed to go back to normal. Pro...

Re: Help with vacuum lines!

The rubber looks bad in some of your pics, those cracks in the hoses will leak air. I'd consider replacing as many vacuum lines as you can get to, it looks like you have a non-turbo so see https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=65002. For turbo cars look here https://www.ma...

Re: Recent site pageload times Sept 2023

I'm going to increase the size of the disk, but I'll need to shut down the site for about 10 minutes. I'm not going to do that now, but I will let you know when that's going to happen. Probably later tonight.

FS: 1994 850 Turbo - the Swedish Interceptor :)

Hey folks, It's time for me to retire my 1994 Volvo 850 Turbo. It was driven by my daughter until last year, but a couple of problems sidelined it - the dreaded flashing transmission arrow fault means the auto is on it's way out, and it has a slow brake fluid leak, probably from the ABS module. It's...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

https://youtu.be/Rk9TVM50iA4?si=JM2eXx0el5vbz65k Broke the ball joint pinch bolt driving on our glorious New York roads. Recently did an axle swap and took the whole knuckle out to press the old axle out, but the car has been driven on a 600 mile round trip since then, and it chose to break down 20 ...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

Yeah I reused the bolt, this was a good wake-up call to stop cheaping out, especially since we're already saving money doing work ourselves. Thankfully it was at pretty low speeds and something just caught the wheel wrong, it seems everything is ok, I have the bolt and nut on order. This is my siste...

I’ve been using the Kat to see Mom in hospital, recovering from leg infection. Doing well. Taking a break from work life routine to get her home again soon
Wishing mom the best!
