Re: Brake caliper binding/sticking after hard braking
UPDATE-- It was the return line piston in the abs block that was seized. Replaced the pump and block, because they are a unit, bleed the brakes and everything is back to normal. Thank you to everyone who helped diagnose the problem. Big thanks to Abscate. The amount of time you put into helping a st...

Re: Rims
Depending on where you are in NY, check out how far you are from Harry's U Pull It in Hazelton, Pa. Good sets of alloys generally available for about $30/wheel, which is oodles cheaper than you'll find them online.

Re: V70 , 2000 Automatic transmission fluid change
It doesn't help that my 2000 V70 manual has a typo listing the transmission as "AW 50-50 LE". I looked pretty hard for fluid compatible with that incorrect part name. In fact, the 2000 V70 has the AW55-50 LE 5-speed automatic. As everyone says, it requires JWS 3309 fluid (also known as T-I...

Re: Is my TRACS-system broken?
As mentioned, you should at least be able to hear it.
On my ‘98, it’s pretty noticeable. Kind of a cross
between a giant rogue hard drive and a very
excited squirrel that got ahold of some meth.
Also worth mentioning that it only engages
at under 25 mph.

Re: 2004 XC Volvo trip I40 support VT to NM FEB 2021
When I was discharged after my time in the Pacific, I drove from CA to Houston to visit family. You can drive all day long in a straight line, starting in Texas, and still be in Texas at the end of the day. Sure hope somebody steps up to cover the West Texas void. The line from "Cast Away"...

Re: 2004 XC Volvo trip I40 support VT to NM FEB 2021
I live about an hour and a half from OKC and can try and help if my schedule allows and the need arises. I will say my knowledge is more in the P80 category, but I'm fairly handy and good at figuring stuff out quickly.

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
It comes packaged with heated third-row seats!
It sort of just crumbled off when I went to bend it back!

Re: persistent knock sensor code-kind of fixed?
I worry about it eating away at the piston rings. If it ate metal Seafoam would be long gone and buried under all the lawsuits for damages. Seafoam is Pale oil, Naphtha, and I so p ropyl A lcohol (IPA). Seafoam eats the Carbon on the rings not the rings. If a engine is so far gone the Carbon is the...
