Re: 93 Volvo 850 MT Will opening rear brake line drain clutch reservoir?

You won't drain much, Jim. just put some tape or a rubber glove on it and you will be fine Or, if you don't want to mess with break fluid at all (except for a few drops) you do it the way I suggested (no fluid can escape the master cylinder when the break pedal is in 3/4 position).... See this illu...

Re: 1999 V70T5M Exhaust CVVT hub replacement

Tips from my experience recently: Mark the hell out of the hub and the cam cover, but you're going to have to check it with the belt anyway. When you're checking to see if you've got the angle set right, torque the bolt down before strapping the belt on. If you let the hub snap home without that bol...

Re: 96 850 turbo #5 misfire

Here are the top suspects that come to mind, in approximate order of suspiciousness: - the intake manifold gasket may be failing at the corner, and there is a small vacuum leak into #5. More common after PCV service, but can happen with age too. Check it by spraying starting fluid into the area with...

Re: SAS Delete Diode

The diode everyone uses has the generic part number 1N4003.

Take "1N4003 diode" to any electronics supply store, or mouser.com, or eBay, or Amazon etc. etc. and you will get what you need.

Re: 1998 V70 transmission cooling line

1+, purge valve there.

- Circlip pliers to spread the retainer. Note the wider flange of the retainer faces the rad.

- Add a clamp to the retainer when done.

- I posted some photos in the recent Nissens Radiator DIY.

Re: 2000 S70 ECC intermittent delay in position 3, ignition switch failure

The mileage was 154k miles when the symptoms appeared. The contacts were tarnished and it did improve with cleaning, but I should have updated my post though. I pulled the ECC and found 2 capacitors on the board had leaked. I needed the air and defrost at the time, and couldn't find replacement caps...

Re: Head gasket job. Won't start

Ah. You have to rotate the cam past the marks by 90 degrees then come back to the marks with VVT. I’ll point you to the thread. My 2 cents.... I know you wanted to say that this is done to unload the VVT cam gear. After checking the timing, While you still have the spark plugs out, rotate the engin...
