Re: 99-00 V/S/C 70 VVT solenoid question?
I would pull one from a wrecked car with 95% confidence it would work I'd edit this to say a used rebuilt one is 95% likely to work. The rebuilt solenoids have their electrical connector coming out at a 180 degree angle to the body and require a different wiring connector. The original ones have th...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Here's my ETM startup check video. It's an original Magneti Marelli ETM in a 2000 V70 NA. The whine is high pitched, more audible to the ear than on this video.

Re: Bad shifting after transmission fluid flush
Thanks, I'll reset the fluid counter. Power flushing these transmissions using an external machine is quite possibly the worst thing you can do to them, and ruins more transmissions than it helps Sorry, I used the wrong terminology and edited my original post. I flushed the transmission by disconnec...

Re: Rescuing Geronimo the 2000 V70
Let me know when you're ready to do the AC system. I can meet you at makerspace and let you borrow my gauges and compressor, or you can swing by my house and use them there. Thanks, that's a huge help. I was sure I'd have to run to the dealership for the discharge and recharge. A/C is pretty low on...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
We tackled the Fuel filter that looked like it had been sitting in the Titanic. It was a devil to get off. Even thought the filter rotated, it would not release the filter pipes. Post pics so we can compare it to the Geronimo pinhole leak fuel filter . Mine removed easily enough... as rust and leak...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
I run my little Dremel cut off wheels until they wear to the central metal collar. I feel that their smaller diameter allows for more fine work. Helped when I was cutting an O2 sensor out of the remnants of the exhaust hole. Pro tip: Don't cut it, use excessive heat.

Re: Where to buy bulk rivets for mudflap and wheel liner?
Thanks for all the feedback. I've got a lot of bumper work to do and don't want each rivet to be the price of a gourmet cookie. The thought of wasting so many cookies... I Googled “plastic push pin flare rivets” and got a few thousand hits with many promising options. Thanks, I had no idea what they...

Re: Rescuing Geronimo the 2000 V70
Geronimo got a bunch of used parts during a recent multi-state drive. First, I stopped off at abscate's place to pick up a black hood and fenders. I blended right in to his sea of Nautic Blue wagons with my Lunar Blue Mercedes. Thanks for getting these parts to me, abscate! Then, I rode the high sea...

Re: Mold removal from complete interior
I've done some research and have a plan to clean the car: 1. Vacuum the surfaces to remove dirt and loose mold. 2. Use a steam cleaner to sterilize the surfaces. 3. Spray on cleaning solution, work it in with a rotary brush, remove water with a spot cleaning vacuum. Can anyone recommend a good steam...

Re: Lowest price 850 I've ever seen (Hot Wheels)
I saw these two classy Volvos side by side at the grocery store today. The DeLorean was back a few rows so I posed it by the others. It was tough to not buy the DeLorean but I stuck to my rule that I can only buy models of cars I've owned. Some day I want a DeLorean, but I can only get the models on...
