Re: Rear Brake Line Flaring

Clemens wrote: 07 Sep 2021, 23:55 No idea how to stop the fluud from dripping.
A depressed brake pedal closes the valve, hence no drip, other than gravity at work.

Re: How do I re-glue the headliner in a wagon (back half fell down)

Pull the entire headliner board out, remove all of the old material and foam, and install new material. https://turbochuckcom.ipage.com/webimages/projects/97%20Volvo%20855/2020/Headliner/headliner_1.jpg https://turbochuckcom.ipage.com/webimages/projects/97%20Volvo%20855/2020/Headliner/headliner_2.jp...

Re: How do I re-glue the headliner in a wagon (back half fell down)

I replaced mine (wagon) back in 2015. As other members said, the first step is to remove all the plastic trim pieces with care and then drop the headlinear from the front to back. There are velcro tape in the "center" of the headlinear, around the B pillar section to hold the headlinear. I...

Re: How do I re-glue the headliner in a wagon (back half fell down)

This guy wants $250 to do the job. But I want to source all the clips that might break & have them on hand. He says he gets the sedan backer comes out thru a door - but cars with a tall console, have to take out a window. No need to take any windows out on the sedan to get the backer out. Easie...

Re: Parking brake adjustment and rehabilitation

I have written on this subject several times before. The fear of parking brakes is greater than the reality. The biggest issue is everyone thinks it is a fit and forget issue. That is where it all goes sadly wrong. The 2nd thing is that in particular is with auto trans where the parking brake is sel...

Re: Parking brake adjustment and rehabilitation

OK. Part 2: Cable replacement. Assuming you have everything apart. Plenty of a good penetrant (Deep Creep/PB Blaster, but not WD40) sprayed around where the cable comes out behind the dust shield and the rear hubs. Also where the cable is mounted just in front of the rear wheels. You will need to re...

V/S70 - Why you clean the cabin sensor

I have mentioned that the cabin sensor should be cleaned from time-to-time. Some may wonder why I harp on about it and here is a good example of one that has probably never been cleaned in the cars' life until it ended up in the junkyard at 190,000 miles or so: PXL_20211013_222032476.jpg You can see...

Re: Re: Tailgate struts for V70

Firefox, you have found exactly what I have as to why I don't like removing these. I have used JB weld 2 part plastics epoxy for many things plastic in my Volvos. I will be using it again on my dash mount repairs over the winter. I also have a plastics welder (like a wide tipped soldering iron power...

Re: Parts to hoard for 1998-2000 S/V70?

Depending on time and money, smaller but expensive electrical stuff like: 1) Cabin temp sensor 2) Heater fan motor 3) servo motor for heater flaps. 4) Door actuators 5) Antenna ring (careful removing it as clip on front gets brittle) - This is the ring around the ignition key. 6) Check what radio th...
