Re: What is stereo model on 01 v70 t5M? Also need your opinion about this vehicle
On a T5 I would expect to have the higher 803 with amplifier, double front door speakers, and dash speaker, but no rear sub. Look inside the trunk for the sub connector it it happens to have been prewired. I don't know about the bose systems, I think these 803 are good but may not blow away people w...

Re: Starting replacement of control arms and ball joints on 2005 XC90 2.5t this weekend
I did remove the ball joint once the wheel hub was on the floor. Just punch between the ball joint and the hub with a cold chisel, alternating near where the bolts sit - better not punch in the center because it may chip the hub metal. Clean nicely the hole and rub some grease before tapping the new...

Re: Since we're talking about Air Conditioning shims with bread clips and wire ties....
The gap wasn't bad yet, but the bearing on my pulley was making noise at 100K miles, so I went replacing the bearing (with a quality one) and in the process you can remove a shim to adjust the gap (there's 3 shims of different thickness inside). Now at 135K miles, being fine ever since www.youtube.c...

Re: V70 II dashboard doesn't show speed, rpm etc.
Try looking with a flash light under the dash, see which CEM you have (look up on Ebay CEM 2003 vs 2004), the 2004-up one is prone to water ingress and may affect the DIM. You may even see water marks on it, especially if it did rain recently. Saying this because normally only the 02-03 DIM without ...

Re: Battery Drain
I turned the car off and measured the voltage across the battery again and it's reading 12.4 V. That doesn't make sense to me because there's no way the battery charged up in the short five minutes I had the car on. That seems normal because right after driving the battery has some extra voltage th...

Re: Power steering bypass
You may try to find a shorter belt from another car, and bypass the compressor too, to get enough grip on the alternator which has a heavy pulley. Not sure if the tension will be correct, perhaps just drive more gently on the gas pedal. May try to measure the length with a rope

Re: engine serial number where is it
You have to remove the exhaust cover plate and look on a shelf right behind the exhaust cam side of the cylinder head, and clean it with a paper towel and gunk remover Right “behind” to the left side of the water pipe I wish mine was looking this good 8) On P2 cars Volvo hired an old lady to stamp ...
